Maybe you could take comments and requests a day or two before. Then you could print them out for reference.

That would make entirely too much sense, LJ. It would take away from the Ijam they had going.

Maybe you could take comments and requests a day or two before. Then you could print them out for reference. Or take requests a month in advance so we’d have time to learn the tunes. I always liked the way Bill Monroe took requests. After the late 1960s his audiences were often filled with people who knew everything he had ever recorded and which musicians had played on each session. He would ask for requests and pause, listening. Members of the audience quickly shouted out pretty much every song he’d done along with some he hadn’t. Bill just stood there listing to all the requests and when he heard one he wanted to do, he’d acknowledge that one and kick it off. He always seemed to enjoy doing that.

"...if you're traveling in the north country fair..."
Worth the price of admission. I was working in the dark delivering parcels when this was live.

"...if you're traveling in the north country fair..." Worth the price of admission. I was working in the dark delivering parcels when this was live. Thank you, John. You’ll recall that it’s entirely your fault that we do that one. If you hadn’t sent that CD of The Johnsons with Jeff White on guitar I’d never have come up with a good way to do that. It’s a tune I’d always wanted to do but could never figure out how to approach it. One can’t just approximate Dylan’s version because, … Dylan. But the poetry is wonderful.

So, when is the next show? Don’t have one planned yet but have been thinking about doing more of them. Thanks to Russell and the Granite City Folk Society we now kinda know how to do these. It was fun to do. Exploring. On edit: Gotta get my hand fixed though. It was quite painful getting through that one and there were obvious spots where it just wouldn’t do my bidding.
