Why would he do that, he pitches his tent next to upwind from Todd's outhouse.

I'll talk to the Cobblestone owners sometime, but right now it's probably a bit too soon. There are completely new owners. They have heard the legend, but they have not experienced us. Carma, La Reyna proprietor, is delighted to have us back.

I hear at our advanced age it’s best not to strain too much. Mike

Is he going to knock on the trailer door to use the bathroom in the middle of the night? Why would he do that , he pitches his tent next to Todd's outhouse. Now is the winter of our discount tent?

The "guns" are usually .22 or .25. Doug would always bring something unusual in a larger caliber. Nothing huge, one year he brought a .38 converted Nagant revolver. I will bring my very fine Ruger target pistol and a few mouse guns. The double-deuce is just about the perfect caliber for plinking. I’ll bring one or two.

In Iowa, you’re not allowed to have a gun unless you want one.

I assume so. In the past we've made reservations as early as January.

I haven't checked yet, and the owners are new since the last Ijam. I did work with them getting a room for a couple others last summer, however, and it was all smooth. But do let me get in there this week in person and ask about how they want to handle this. Other years they've always let me block rooms without a credit card, and let me request the first floor. I'll get in this this week. In the meantime, how's this for an incentive to come to Ijam. This, taken today in our new Hy Vee grocery store in Vinton:

It's called Dollar Fresh, which is a regular Hy-Vee but smaller. To us it's a regular sized store, but not quite as much as the Fareway that has been here forever.
It's big enough you could get all of your groceries there, but would still have to travel abroad to get specific things.
It is better than Rainbow Grocery in Roseville.

Judging from the image you posted, I think I know how they can make room for a wider selection of foods.

It was the old Alco, but I didn't mention that because I doubt anyone would remember. It was a tiny box store.
