Took wife to the ER in Woodstock for a kidney stone last night. Too big to simply let it try to pass (9mm) so she was transferred to Winchester (on a fair bit of Dilaudid and morphine) in my truck and spent the night there so she can be in the queue for surgery today if possible. We're scheduled to leave for Michigan tomorrow for her niece's funeral. So now she's waiting and I'm doing laundry, etc. If she gets in today you won't hear much from me until Monday.
That should allow you all to rant about the Jan. 6 hearing without reality interrupting.
Have a great weekend!

That sucks, Peter! Hopefully she can get in today. When my wife had her kidney stone last fall (on her birthday, no less) it took a month before they could get her scheduled due to COVID. But the operation itself was quick and made an immediate difference - very quick recovery.
Hopefully she'll be on her way tomorrow - wishing her and her whole family the best.

After our gig in the 97 degrees yesterday, I'm cooling my heels today.
I seem to have developed the dreaded Disney rash yesterday on me left ankle. No discomfort but it looks weird.

Best wishes to your wife, Peter, and to your whole family.
Down here, it is HOT (which is normal) and strong thunderstorms are expected again this afternoon (also pretty normal). We got some 50-60 MPH winds yesterday for a time.

But the operation itself was quick and made an immediate difference - very quick recovery. Hopefully she'll be on her way tomorrow - wishing her and her whole family the best. My wife knew exactly what was going on. We had a similar experience on Easter Sunday, 2000 but that time the kids were young and my wife insisted (not a woman to be trifled with) that she drive herself to the ER (about 3 miles back through neighborhood streets) while I manage Easter Bunny stuff for the kids. Surgery wasn't needed that time but this time it's too big. As the doctor said, we can't make you stay here but if you go to Michigan, your trip will end in about Ohio. So checking her in last night got her a definite slot on the calendar but you can't really predict OR schedules. At the outside, it may be bumped to tomorrow but should still allow us to be there for the service on Friday. And thanks to all for the good wishes.

Hope the ordeal goes well and quickly, Peter.
Never had a kidney stone, but the tales I have heard lurk in the back recesses of my mind like a Freddy Krueger calling softly, "Paul..., Paul..., I'm here..., and one day, I'm coming for you".

Good morning
73F-79F mostly cloudy.
Weathered yesterday's heat just fine but not so well last night. Sleeping was difficult, tired today so nap time will be early.
But I have to get at least a little work done today before the nap.
The caravan across the street moved out during the early hours. They were quiet and didn't bother anyone so I have no complaints. They'll find another spot for a few days. The lead car was a 70s Cadillac Coupe Deville that was in decent shape but needed paint. Huge car for being a coupe, massive V8 and a trunk big enough to party in.

Hope they can grab that stone lickety split. It is misery, but easily corrected.

Oh so sorry to hear. Been there, done that many times. It is very painful.
There was always the comparison between the pain of labor vs kidney stone. A good friend of mine who had 4 children once told me, in a discussion about stones, that she would gladly have 4 more kids vs having another kidney stone.
Sending good vibes, that all goes well !

Well she got in for surgery, I dropped the lawn mowing I was doing and I'm sitting in her vacant room which is quite comfy. She should be done with the surgery part around 1. Think I'll wander to the cafeteria for lunch.

Thanks very much for keeping us up to date.
