Unfortunately we have a gig that weekend. I know you are expert in logistics and planning. Please reserve the weekend after Labor Day 2023.

Sue and I will be there both nights. I'm meeting with the Byrd's this evening and will let you know what is up with them. Sounds like it may be a smaller group, skipping the catering / buffet and just ordering may be the way to go. Shit, there's only like 6 of us! The town won't even notice us!

It’s not looking too good for me. Pat’s work schedule in St Paul changed and now has her on that weekend and she is not healthy enough to do it on her own at this point. Damn.

You know, whatever count we get is fine. It's not like we want to see each other less because there are fewer people there. But if you add things up there will be 12 or so. That's not a small number.

Yes, but I always assumed the county's annual budget depended on the economic force that is IdiotJam.
Strange that I always end up driving 460+ miles to see Rob, rather than just driving 60.

I will be arriving in the Vinton/Garrison metroplex late morning or early afternoon on Friday and staying through Sunday breakfast. If I wake up early enough on Friday I might make it to the bacon/coffee extravaganza.
Friday evening and Saturday evening dining could be whatever is most convenient and indeed, most profitable, for the Hitchin' Post and La Renya. I noticed on previous Saturday evenings La Reyna lays out a huge spread, and even though IdiotJammers eat like pigs have hearty appetites, there are a lot of unprofitable leftovers.
Disappointed, but understanding that PaulS, Marty, and others can't make it. Perhaps I will text Marty with luthiery questions every time he tries to take a nap.

Hey, someone's gotta split the $25 and all you can eat buffet! (just making a joke about how much most bands get paid. You all may actually get more than $25 and a shot at the buffet. Not the least of which is the joy/rush of performing. But we will miss you)

The wife and I will have a spread laid on Thursday night for those that can arrive early. Looking forward to seeing those that can travel.

Phil and his wife make quite a spread. I can tell you that from experience. Go home hungry and it's all your fault.

I spoke with Brittany of the Hitchin' Post today and of course it would make more sense to us to eat dinner a block away as opposed to catering. She's going to put an extra cook on staff that evening, and gotten more efficient with the space. They even have the little tabletop picnic table salt/pepper/napkin holder things. And a pheasant.

As I said earler elsewhere, we won't be there. We will miss you all.
We were planning to be off having adventures. But since the best adventures are by definition unplanned, we must now be having an even better adventure. Long story, more on this later as it plays out.

My son and I are planning on coming down. It’s his first week of 6th grade so I can’t pull him out of any of it, so we plan to leave by 4p Friday and it’s a 3hr drive. But we’ll be there all of Saturday and of course thru breakfast Sunday. Looking forward to seeing whoever makes it.

I just called for reservations at the Cobblestone. I was only able to book Thurs & Fri nights with standby for Saturday night. Someone has booked a wedding group and they are full up for Saturday night. Evidently they weren’t holding rooms for us this year as they have in the past.
Fortunately, we’re only 40 min. or so from home.
