Also, SMS and email are not secure two-factor authentication (2FA). You need a third-party app that generates a secure code that’s only valid for a very short time, usually less than a minute. I use one called Sentinal because I believe, after trying several and doing some research that it stands way above the rest. Again, editor instincts would cause me to distrust "Sentinal." Work uses Microsoft 2FA, another work uses DUO 2FA, my personal password manager uses Google 2FA, and my password manager also has it's own 2FA app. So I guess I am 8FA?

The phishing scam that is the worst I think is the one where they find someone closing on a house and misrepresent themselves as the title company wanting to wire the amount for the closing. The people who fall for it lose hundreds of thousands at a time.
