I find this thing to be a lot of fun. I have 10-46s on it. I am practicing my hillbilly twanging. I have the hillbilly part down. It’s the twanging I have to work on. String twanging, not vocal twanging.

I am trying to get used to an unwound 3rd. It’s a 17 so I may swap it for an 18 or 20 wound.

Confused Trombones. Great band name. I dunno, seems redundant.

Man, I like Teles. I should get me one. Onliest thing is, I would just use it for self intertainment. And the ones I seem to like are all kind of spendy. But I do like teles.

All my guitars are used for my own personal joy. And thinking about what to get, or what not to get, can be a nice source of entertainment for me as well. Just this weekend I planned out my next acoustic (and the pickup I want to put in it) two or three times, and I've planned out two or three electrics, too. Part of my joy comes from picking out something as a modification platform and figuring out what modifications I want to make (pickups, wiring, etc.).
Of course, I never end up doing the mods. And I really hardly ever actually purchase a guitar. Every so often I will pick up what I own to verify I've made good choices in what I currently have. But in the next year or so I just might get a new guitar.

Teles are indeed fun. I owned a MIM Tele for several years before concluding I am a folkie who has no business playing electric guitar. (Even so, I often peruse Teles on-line and occasionally in-store)
Marty - do you have an opinion on the Stewart-McDonald Tele kit?

I have been fooling around with my Tele lately, and agree. Great fun, and such a variety of sounds can be made with just two knobs and two pickups.
I started with .010 strings but recently switched to .009. Mostly because it is easier to bend the lighter strings. But also because skinnier strings can have a warmer tone, according to guys with better ears than me:

But also because skinnier strings can have a warmer tone, according to guys with better ears than me: That’s interesting. I had .009s on it, but recently put a set of .010s on. I notice a difference in the feel, especially the 3rd string. I thought I would not like the unwound 3rd because I have a wound on my SG and like the feel there, but I have gotten used to the unwound 3rd pretty quickly. I have to admit, the .009s felt pretty good. I just wanted to experiment a bit & try the .010s. I am not sure which I will settle on but I do know I won’t go any heavier than .010s & I think I will stick with the unwound 3rd. In the video, it’s difficult for me to hear a lot of difference and since they are playing over-driven power chords, that doesn’t help. Some nice, boring, clean tones would have told me more. I guess it really boils down to what type of music you want to play. Here is a difference point of view.

Confused Trombones. Great band name. I would use the concept but rearrange the wording to Trombone Confusion. Yeah. Like that.

I really like my strat I made, but I don’t use it much. I’d like a tele as well. Also a semi hollow body. And…. I’ll just stop there. One electric, and the lap steel I made, is enough. Really. So I keep telling myself. My wife keeps telling me, too.

In terms of guitars in cases, when put away, or off to the side as you usually do, I guess it's about two electrics per acoustic, as to the space they need?
