Ah, the missing grounds caper. It has happened to me but I just assumed the grounds were stolen by an intruder who enjoyed seeing my disappointment with a pot full of hot water instead of my much loved coffee. There is no way I could have forgotten them. Colder today but the real concern is the mystery storm for tomorrow. No one seems to be able to accurately predict its path. It will either dump 6-8 inches of snow on Marshall or on us. Or miss us both. We will see.

First pot of coffee already brewed and gone... When I made it, I forgot the all-important step of putting the coffee grounds in the coffee maker. I've done that. These days I have the coffee ready to go the next morning as soon as I push a button. Yesterday I had the last significant follow-up exam after my hospitalization in February. We were pretty sure we wanted to get out of this medical system. We liked this doctor very much and we thought we'd lose her by leaving the system. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that we can keep her. Now we're certain that we'll change systems. We had a heavy rain last night. All the clouds kept the temperature up overnight. Tonight and tomorrow night it looks like we'll have a significant chance of a freeze. Zoom social breakfast in a while. Enjoy your day.

Eric and I will be performing at the Sun City Festival wine social again tonight. Good thing it’s indoors. Only a high of 54 today.

I just read that Night Manager is getting a new season. That’s great. I liked that series. Good book too. Got my mailbox shoveled out, walks and deck cleared, and roof raked yesterday. Good workout and I was actually able to get out of bed this morning.

First pot of coffee already brewed and gone... When I made it, I forgot the all-important step of putting the coffee grounds in the coffee maker. I've done that. DaWife then asked me if she could get me a cup Usually it's the other way round. She brought me a mug of hot water while laughing at me. I've done it a few times but since I'm usually the one serving coffee didn't get caught.

Good morning.
15F-30F cloudy.
Got a good amount of shop work done yesterday by working, taking a short early nap and going back down to finish. I'd try to do that today but DaWife needs to drop by her office at US the Bank Control Center just for a few minutes. With the recent eye surgery she can't drive until she gets the other eye done next week.
Trying to type this and Simon is bugging me for my lap so he can have a snuggle, hence the nickname Mr Snuggles. Riley has now become a treats kitty. 10 years of looking at you like you dropped a turd in front of him if you offered treats and now he wants treats all the time, Simon has always loved them. Life with furbabies.
Time to get dressed and drive Me Darling Wife over to the River Flats.
18 Days Until Spring.

Snowed last night. Mostly melted on the ground, now but still on roofs and fences. It will all be gone by the time I have to drive to my dental appointment. A neighbor is having a small outdoor gathering Saturday evening. Guess we'll say yes, but I'll be dressing in layers. Interesting results from my follow up visit to the ophthalmologist yesterday. Although both eyes were supposed to be set for distance by surgery, the first one (left) turned out more mid-range. Apparently somewhat unusual. That explains why my distance vision in the second eye (right) was immediately better than in the first one after 3 weeks. A refraction was done on the left eye and it's correctable with glasses. But I don't go back until early April to get a prescription for those.
Just saw Marty's comment about his wife not being able to drive. I was allowed to drive as soon as I could see well enough. So I did.

Great breakfast today -- a seared hot dog, a fried egg, cold brew coffee and yogurt with blueberries. Doesn't take much to please me.

Good morning, it a overcast day, 34 degrees. I've been closely watching the forecast for tomorrow and it looks like we'll dodge another bullet. Marshall might not be so lucky, although the main event may go south of Chicago too.
A trip to Fareway is planned for this afternoon to pick up meat to grill, as we celebrate both grandson's birthdays.

Up. The sun is back, heading for a forcast high of 69. Costco run this am, bike ride later. Quite the little storm that blew through yesterday. Wind was blowing like heck. But today looks nice.

GOOD NEWS From today's Washington Post: A major drug company is slashing what it charges for insulin.
The details: Eli Lilly is capping out-of-pocket insulin costs at $35 a month and cutting prices of its most commonly prescribed insulin by 70%, the company said yesterday. Why this matters: Insulin is a treatment many diabetics need to survive, and it can cost $6,000 a year or more for people without good health insurance.

I’ve also had the water stolen but not the grounds. It’s almost certainly the work of varlets or possibly mindermasts. Those bastards!
