Last full day in Bucharest. Spent yesterday in the Black Sea city of Constanta. Interesting beaches, interesting place. Didn't expect to get sunburned but I did

I hope you weren't bitten by any fleas.
"Historians are unanimous in describing epidemics as a strong factor influencing human civilization just like any other major event. The epidemics that had the strongest impact were those of plague, smallpox and cholera. The plague, also called 'the black death', known in the Romanian Principalities as the "black ulcer", has killed the biggest number of people throughout history. According to some historians, the great plague epidemic of the mid 17th century left around 75 million people dead. It was not until late 19th century, in 1894 , that the French Alexandre Yersin discovered the bacteria causing the pest, and with it the remedy against the most terrible disease ever. Before Yersin' s great discovery, the only cure against the plague was the 'survival of the fittest', which meant that the only people who could save their lives were those immune to the bacteria or those developing a less serious form of the disease."

Justinian's Flea is a history of the plague that was written by the husband of an old coworker of mine from SI for Kids. www.justiniansflea.com/
"During the reign of the emperor Justinian I (527-565 CE), one of the worst outbreaks of the plague took place, claiming the lives of millions of people. The plague arrived in Constantinople in 542 CE, almost a year after the disease first made its appearance in the outer provinces of the empire." — www.worldhistory.org/article/782/justinians-plague-541-542-ce/
Additionally, it's Hump(ty) Day.

Looks like the rain is finally moving out and, maybe, temperatures will start to improve. We’ll see.

Good morning. It'll be a fine spring day here, 60s-80s. I'm still prohibited from driving so today my wife will take me to buy groceries. She'll hang out in the store's Starbucks while I have all the fun. We're seeing a lot of flowers blooming at once because the spring flowers are still at it and the summer flowers are starting to chime in. Enjoy your day. Wordle 683 2/6* ⬜🟨⬜🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

I've been practicing my Lightfoot set this morning and maybe I'll try the open mic tonight. My fingers hurt already.

Good morning. After Breakfast I'll be heading to Cedar Rapids, to see the leather lady. She called yesterday and said she had completed the modification to the gun belt/holster that I took down to her.
I'm hoping to mow this afternoon and then go back to Cedar Rapids this evening for dinner at the lighthouse.

Since we'll be gone for the weekend I need to head home for a gardening project today. Trying to get some bare root asparagus that just showed up planted. Since it grows wild in the ditches in North Dakota I figured it would be drop a root ball in a hole and come back in 2 years to feast. Turns out it's a little more complicated. My shovel awaits.

"Leaping Lizards, is that current photo of a sunflower blooming in early May?" Truthfully, epaul, the photo's a couple of days old.

If only a person had some well-aged horse manure to mix in with the soil... (well-aged: not fresh. look for some stuff that was laid last summer. dry and crumbly. should have a earthy smell and a mild, sweet taste. check for worms before tasting. ask wife to do the honors if unsure.)

Ewww. That’s disgusting.
You know what’s not disgusting? Costco’s Cranberry Walnut Bread. It’s a seasonal item and it’s back. I just had a slice toasted with p-nut butter and it’s scrumptious.
Today I’m off to have the old eyes checked, last summer I had one eye done for cateract and it will be interesting to see if the other one needs it now, later maybe a bike ride.

Good morning.
37F-67F partly cloudy.
Going to be a nice day.
For some reason I went to bed and woke up thinking I had a Doc appointment this morning, but my calendar didn't remind me, because it's on Friday.
Got a nice amount of work done yesterday and hope to do so today. While working I have my neck press heating up parts from cut up guitars. Removing truss rods, bridges and a few fingerboards.
What good is a sick wife? They can't do anything for you and even worse you have to take care of them to get one useful again!

Spectacular day here. Almost calm, mid 50's sunny. Wow!!
Got the dock in and it went the smoothest it ever has. Did not have to do any leveling. Baptized the kayak for another season with a short paddle.
The ice just went out two days ago and I thought I might be one of the first to get my dock in but while paddling saw I was in about 15th place. Gotta get those $70,000 wake boats in for the three months a year they can be used.

I'm hoping to mow this afternoon and then go back to Cedar Rapids this evening for dinner at the Lighthouse. Opened in 1912, it served John Dillinger and Al Capone and is CR's oldest eatery, sayeth their website. Looks good!

I’m still dealing with the government for three months. They has lies in the my letters. So I found five people that had some truth.
There’s still or a few dementia people to put a incorrect letter
It’s too bad their mind doesn’t work
