Grilled asparagus, grilled zucchini, Caesar salad, grilled salmon with lemon mustard (Valarie Bertinelli recipe). A bottle of Terra Vina Renegado is about to be opened.

I made pork medallion Marsala, broccoli, mashed Yukon Gold potatoes, a tossed salad, and crusty baguettes. Pretty good, if I do say so myself. (Barb also said so.)

I didn't know that there was post for this, so I put it in the daily:
"last night my Traeger style grill produced a delicious smoked chicken, smoked baked taters and smoked green (string) beans. Just set put Traeger chicken rub on the chicken, set the smoker for 225 and cook until the internal temp of the chicken hits 160, let it rest for 15 minutes. It is tender and juicy. chicken sammies for the week."
I forgot to add, that I washed it down with some boxed chardonnay.

smoked green (string) beans. I'm interested in that. I've just planted my pole beans, and I'm intrigued by the idea of smoking them. Fill me in?

Wife's choice:
Polish Sausage from Caputo's Cheddar and Potato Pierogies Sautéed Cabbage
It was good, but would not be my first choice.

I used to make something like that for Kim all the time. Polsa kielbasa, onion and potatoes all sauteed, cabbage thrown in at the very end.

smoked green (string) beans. I'm interested in that. I've just planted my pole beans, and I'm intrigued by the idea of smoking them. Fill me in? Easy! You should watch this guy and buy or don't buy the crap stuff he is selling www.youtube.com/watch?v=N03ZkqOcbmsthat is what I did for some general idea, then I did this: Season your green beans with a small amount of oil, salt and pepper, put them on top of aluminum foil, cup the edges so they don't fall off, put them on the Traeger style grill for about an hour at 225. (I had my chicken smoking at 225 for about 3 hours, put the taters in with about 2 hours left, put the beans in with about an hour left. Took the chicken out after 3 hours, and stuck it in the indoor oven with no heat, to rest for 15 minutes. I turned the taters and beans up to 395 when I took the chicken out. In about 10 minutes I took the taters and beans out, then served it with the chicken.)

Cube the potatoes them microwave them first to they are soft. Then stir-fry up everything except the cabbage. At the end, toss in the cut-up cabbage along with a couple tablespoons of water, put a lid on it and let it sit for a minute. This will cook the cabbage just enough to keep it crisp. Remove the lid and quickly toss it all together and it's done. Very easy.

[quote author=" Village Idiot" source="/post/989302/thread" timestamp="1684809201" What do the beans look like when they are done?[/quote] Like your fingers after you have been in the water for an hour. But, just grab one about 45 minutes into the cooking process and see if it is the way you want it.

Won Ton Soup. Slice up some Chinese BBQ pork, green onions, carrot, mushroom, celery, spinach or romaine leaf(or cabbage), and some of this powdered mix below and boil for 15 mins or so. I add the lettuce toward the end so it's not over cooked. Maybe add some canned bamboo shoot or water cress if inclined. Remove from burner and drop in some frozen premade won tons and let cool for 10 minutes. Add some dried crunchy won ton strips on top for your "crackers". As good as any you'll have in a restaurant.

Being lazier than Majorminor, I plan an early supper tonight at Pagoda, where they offer dim sum items every day. Thinking of chicken dumplings, garlic green beans and spicy fried sole fillets. And a crisp glass of overpriced white wine.
