I am up. Barb has an early EKG scheduled. This is an awful time to be awake. 5 AM. Even the birds are still asleep.
Enjoy the sunrise.

Almost 6:00 am here, and yes it a little early to be up.
I'm having breakfast with my daughter, before she goes to work, then I'll head for Iowa.

Good morning. Breakfast served to my daughter, my lunch is ready to go with me to work. LJ, I hope all goes well with Barb's EKG.
We just heard on NPR that our favorite chef/owner of a local Iranian restaurant, Sofreh (SO-fray) has just won the James Beard Award. Nasim Alikhani came here from Iran 40 years ago with a law degree and waning interest in the law. She worked as a nanny for an Iranian family in Queens and cooked for them, for parties, weddings, and didn't open her restaurant until she turned 64, a few years ago. She has experimented with aromatic cocktails and serves the most incredibly delicious, intricately flavored dishes. Of course, now it will be near impossible to get a reservation for dinner.
Bill, you'd love this place. She is totally hands-on in the kitchen and she makes guests feel right at home.
Have good days, and eat well.

Marinated chicken done in the oven, plus a big salad for dinner (and some rice, but not much). I like wood like this:

Sunny and cool, warm but not hot later on.
Entering an intense week of granddaughter time. Fifth grade graduation for our eldest and doing child care for the other three.

Getting up at 6:00 AM is a regular routine for me for much of the year if I want to get in a walk before it's too hot. Low of 70F last night. Expecting 102 today. Not planning to go anywhere after that except a late morning meeting of our HOA finance committee, the first in person meeting since early 2000. It's at the treasurer's house, which is less than 2 minutes away on foot.

Good morning, all.
It is shaping up to be a busy day in clinic. During the summer weeks, several of our providers are off, and a lot of the folks on today's schedule are their patients. That makes things a bit more difficult. I will soldier through just fine, though, because I am on vacation next week!

Good morning. 66F-87F partly cloudy. The girls came by last night. I thought I was supposed to cook them dinner but they all decided (this includes Grandma) they wanted to go out. We went to Obb's, a local food/drink place with a nice patio that is rather good. They do a really good Prime Rib once a week. While we waited for our food They phoned Uncle Bill to arrange a week stay at his place near Crosslake, MN. I get to stay home and take care of cats, poor me. Bill's place is wonderful but I enjoyed it much more when the kids and grandkids were little. The girls (less Grandma) are now on their way to Chicago to meet up with their older sister. So Ayana, Kaiah and Zaria will spend the week there. Shop time.

Cloudy and cooler (but still in the 80s).
I have several (well, three) golf ball-sized tomatoes with a bunch of marble-sized following and more buds than I can shake a stick at (that is an interesting phrase... origin: plagued by more pests/varmints than can be simply chased away?). Anyway, looks like an extra early and extra big crop. The horses I could feed...

Good day, we are enjoying a break from the heat and humidity, might even get some much needed rain today. The lawn guy is here, trimming hedges and giving my landscaping a new layer of mulch. It will cost me a pretty penny, but raise my standing in the neighborhood somewhat.
Marty, I like Obb's broasted chicken -- ever tried it?
Hope all goes well with Barb, LJ.

Morning. We are in an extended period of way below normal rainfall, which does not bode well for fire season. Starter off the morning with a Wordle fail, at least the coffee is good. 84 for a high.

4 hours of office work and 4 hours of yard work yesterday. The workweek now looks like a breeze. I might even be able to go to the beach on Friday.

We sure hope everything is normal. If your healthcare setup is anything like mine, her test results are probably already up on the health portal.
