Mine are stiff and swollen and they're twisting so that they bump into each other where they didn't used to. I'm pretty lucky, though. I can still pretty much play whatever I can remember. I don't have pain. I'm just not nimble.

Mine are shot and I've been unable to play guitar for several years, but I had a good run.
I'll spare you the specifics, but there's not really anything left to be done to address the maladies.
At least I still can type OK and earn a living.

I'm inclined (not just to be contrarian, but because I've observed lots of potters) to say that the instances of repetitive motion maladies like carpal tunnel are no more evident in potters than in other professions. I'm more inclined to guess that pottery is fantastic for keeping hands strong and young. I know lots of old potters.

My thumbs hurt a bit, but I can still mess up perfectly good songs. So that’s something.

I heard on TV the other day, if you're in a fight with a baker, don't let them get their hands on you. All that kneading makes them really strong.

For a talented guitarist like you, Bill, this is a sad state of affairs. I wish there were something that could be done to restore your flexibility.
I feel so fortunate to have beaten the stenosing tenosynovitis. The only pain I feel these days, mostly, is existential melancholia.

Hands are holding up for now. Arthritis in the base of my right thumb, which I believe is the result of years of typing boring reports and constantly hitting the space bar. It's a constant dull ache, but my guitar playing is no worse. The very thought of using a thumbpick is painful, but I could never get the hang of using a thumbpick anyway.
I have contemplated electric guitars for such time as my hands might need it, but recent forays to guitar shops have shown electric guitars to be unappealing for the kind of music I play (simple-minded fingerpicking and mindless strumming)

It would lock up, and I figured I’d be stuck with that. But it healed up. Newer injuries aren’t doing as well. I did mangle the little finger of my picking hand when I was 19, playing touch football. But if there’s one finger a guitar player can do without, that’s it, so counting my blessings it was that one.
