Back from an afternoon of shopping. We went to Menard's and Sam's Club, spent way too much at both places. Then had a late lunch at Culver's. Nap time.

Had a craving for spaghetti and meatballs today amid the sub-freezing temps, Googled around for likely-suspect eateries to visit and remembered D'Amico & Sons, a small local chain with a location only a couple miles away. I grabbed a good book, motored over there, ordered the Sicilian meatball/pasta special with mixed greens on the side and their famous bottomless glass of Chianti. Damn, did that all hit the spot, and I'll have at least one, if not two, more meals out of my bring-home boxes. Sadly, they don't let you take home the leftover Chianti, poured from a huge Magnum bottle.

Satisfied my spaghetti craving Wednesday after having a whole lot of seafood on our cruise. Homemade, more or less. We use Hunt's sauce. They have lots of varieties, but we always use the garlic and herb. And always have it with ground sirloin from Costco over whole wheat pasta. Cabernet from a box was consumed.

Trying to decide whether I want to watch game two of the Series tonight or, per Dub's reminder, re-watch "Her: A Beet Queen's Tale". It's a great flick. First you cry, then you laugh, then you cry again, then you laugh again, until, by the end, somehow you do both at the same time.

winning morning getting waffle with 5 left and then getting wordle in two. After yesterday's 14.5 hour day, today's 11 hours seemed light.
I'd like to find a nice movie to sit down to tonight. Last night I re-watched (something I rarely do) The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and I'm glad I did. It strikes me how few movies are made anymore that are expressly, intentionally beautiful.

It's entirely letters from the various island residents, a neat literary device (Much like the book Dracula consists entirely of journals and diary entries).

I just watched a YouTube video of the entire 2009 remix of "Revolver" after watching two vids about the making of it, very insightful. When the last song ended, for some reason it switched me to this, Steve Cloutier's beautiful composition , so much so that I chose it as the lead track that I used on "speechless."
Damn, I miss playing.
MartinFever did such a masterful job of recording and mixing this song and all the others. Thanks, Kev! The clarity is amazing.

Yet another time I have clicked both "Like" and "Dislike"
Kilmacdough is a brilliant tune and Bill's rendition is brilliant. I have attempted this tune; perhaps someday I will work on it hard enough to play the tune all the way through.

Well tanks, Beel. It was a fun project. We were so fortunate to have after hours access to a very nice studio filled with Neumans and Pro Tools and decent coffee. You were in fine form, the guitars sounded great and the vibe was positive and relaxing. I pretty much tweaked things until I liked the sound. That is my technical assessment.
Almost 20 years now - I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

Remember when I just could not get "The Week Before Easter" close to acceptable and you came in and handed me your Martin 12-string, and I think we got it in one take?
