I once met a woman who said that she loves Mondays because they keep her busy all day long. I have come to the conclusion that she was nuts.

David, I've been waiting for you to weigh in. You have a Hyundai Tucson hybrid (selling like hotcakes). Is the mileage what you hoped for? What would be your estimation of what you are getting? (and guesstimate how that relates to what the standard Tucson might get) What is your driving mix as a city/highway ratio?
(I drove the conventional Tucson, I never was able to get my hands on a hybrid ((but I did note the ones that came in had close to $1800 in dealer add-ons))

David, I've been waiting for you to weigh in. You have Your wife has a Hyundai Tucson hybrid (selling like hotcakes). Is the mileage what you hoped for? What would be your estimation of what you are getting? (and guesstimate how that relates to what the standard Tucson might get) What is your driving mix as a city/highway ratio? (I drove the conventional Tucson, I never was able to get my hands on a hybrid ((but I did note the ones that came in had close to $1800 in dealer add-ons)) My wife LOVES her car. An all wheel drive Tucson limited hybrid. For the 7000 miles on her car she is getting 34 mpg. I suspect it would get better mileage if she drove in town more. As it is, she works from home, rarely drives during the week. Perhaps 80% (?) of her driving is on the highway going to and from our home to the beach on weekends - about 85 miles of highway driving. If this continues, she might have been money ahead by buying a conventional ICE Tucson (or CRV or RAV), but the non-hybrid Tucsons are SLOW. Her hybrid Tucson is peppy. We intend to retire in July, so I will likely leave my SUV or Pickup at home and use her car more for local drives in and around suburbia, where it will get better mileage, or at least better mileage than an ICE would. I suspect that living in most places in North Dakota would not warrant the extra money for a hybrid or PHEV and we too would have passed on those and likely bought a CRV or RAV4. Now I am trying to decide on which (used) pickup to buy. I want a pickup primarily to haul my motorcycles. I have only narrowed it down to Ridgeline, Tacoma, Ranger, F-150 or Ram 150. The hybrid stuff does not seem worth the money and most of my trips should be highway as opposed to city driving. The Honda Ridgeline is the top contender as it rides better, has comparatively good mpg, and has a cheaper price for similarly aged trucks. A large capacity bed and heftier towing capacity of the Ford and Ram wold be nice, but I just don't know how much I might need them.

One bike in the box, the other in the back seat.
