Good morning. Yesterday the wind was a bear. Today we'll have sunshine and it'll be about 50-66. I mostly photograph nature and it doesn't contain a lot of bright colors. Flowering cactus are a pleasant exception. Enjoy your day. Wordle 1,022 3/6* ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Since we were still under the weather last Sunday, today is the day for the family holiday feast. I've got 3 racks of ribs slow cooking that I'll finish on the grill.

Good morning. It's sunny but still very cool in New York. I slept later than usual, but still don't feel completely rested. Will I ever?
Last night we ate some of the beef bourguignon that I prepared Thursday evening. It was tender and quite tasty. We don't eat much beef around here, but once in a while it cain't hurt.
Off to the kitchen now, coffee on the way.

Testing my new filter in preparation for Monday. The first shot is the sun. The second shot is from the same spot, but focusing more on the samara on the maple in the front yard. I have a little more work to do; sorry about the focus. But it does look spooky.

Heading to the airport in a couple of hours. Hoping for a smooth flight. We will get in late for us. Maybe I can sleep a bit on the plane. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning. Looks like a nice weather day here in Florida. I went out to check on the cranes this morning, still no colts. Maybe tomorrow.....
Not much on the agenda today, I'll watch Arsenal vs. Brighton later this morning, do a bike ride this afternoon and if I get real ambitious I'll write a to do list for tomorrow and Monday.
Have a great day.

Good morning. 33F-58F partly cloudy. Saturday shop and then a trip to IKEA. But first, pancakes. Got told to take my cane with me to IKEA. Why "Because you'll going to do a lot of walking". 'BTW we're having lunch there" They have a place to eat? "Yes it's huge". I got a bad feeling.

Swedish meatballs, Marty. In the protein aisle.
My 86 yr old and 90 year old sisters, retired nurses, made a surprise stop last night. Think Spanish Inquisition minus the pleasantries. The 86 year old especially drove me nuts. It’s like they think we are either hiding something or too damned stupid to know what we are talking about. I was ready to chase them out with a chainsaw before they left. Barb would not get it for me. They mean well, I supposed, but they can irritate the last nerve in my body very quickly. And they either don’t hear or don’t listen to anything said. Ugh!🤕🤕🤕 I must be getting better or I would not have let them irritate the holy crap out of me so much. Ok. I’m done. Nice day. Enjoy it.

We drop Jill off at the airport this morning. She's returning to Virginia after staying for a week. Her kids will be happy to have her home again. Next up is the other daughter who will be visiting us in May.

I'm slowly getting back to normal. I'll be up to my what used to be usual Saturday routine, which is go to the coffee shop to make my grocery list, then off to Fareway (grocery store). I'm not driving, so Peyton is coming with me. Depending how many people I run into I've been known to be gone for hours doing this, I'll try to speed it up for her sake.

There are secret shortcuts that the employees use to get to different parts of the store quickly. And the food in the cafeteria is pretty good, in addition to the meatballs.

My wife and my dog are at the beach. My youngest son is building a computer at the kitchen table. His injured dog is lying in her dog bed beside me. As I drink my late-morning coffee at my desk, I am trying to decide on which guitar to play and which song to work on. Life is good.

Sunny, a bit windy in homestead.
The 3d printer is whirring away next to me. Testing a new material called Tough PLA that is stronger with a lower density than normal PLA (polylactic acid, also known as polyester from fermented corn starch) but this new material has an odor to it that isn't pleasant. It is a pretty nice looking orange color though.
Prepping a turkey breast with all the fixings for some friends that are stopping by later to eat and play some music.

Saturday shop ran an hour over as I had a lot of people come over this morning. I need a short sit down before we head to IKEA and I think lunch first then shopping. As soon as I sat down Riley jumped in my lap begging for cuddles so he got a bit of that.

The Folk Society (and First Presbyterian Church) hosted Mike Dowling last night--the first time we've managed to book him. A really pleasant, laid-back concert with a good bit of interaction with the audience despite the size of the venue. We had chairs set up right in front of the sanctuary/stage, but Minnesotans still are reluctant to sit up front in church. (At Bo Diddley's you can't get very far from the stage and stay inside the building. It's cozy.)
Mike has two more local gigs before taking off for summer-camp season, and I'll be looking hard at driving for one or both. Almost certainly to the Creek House concert in May.

Todd so happy you are gathering steam!
Russ we did a Patsy Cline street concert in Long Prairie once. We set up at one end of the block and as folks arrived the front row formed up about forty feet from us.

What a treat. I pulled into my driveway after work, hopped out, and as I was grabbing my backpack from the back door of the jeep I heard it. I grabbed my phone and my Merlin app and...sure enough. Indiana's most amazing songbird. A brown thrasher. I stood in my driveway recording the songs as I watched the treeline across the street. After a few minutes I decided why not try to get closer. I don't know how timid brown thrashers are, but I started walking toward the distant trees. The song continued. I got still closer and about 50-60 feet away I caught sight of the bird. I still kept walking. Finally I ended up standing just below the bird. It kept on singing. I stood there watching and listening for more than five minutes. I finally walked back home. The bird stayed. (lousy phone photos)
