Good morning. Up early to head out to the Big Pine Tract to look for woodpeckers with the Audubon folks. After that Kelly and the grandkids are coming up this afternoon. Should be a great day. Still no joy from the nesting cranes I've been checking up on. It's past due for the hatching so we'll just have to see. I did however come across these guys on my bike ride yesterday. Have a great day.

Good morning. We'll have 60s-80s and many things in bloom. I need to see if I can fix a gate in the backyard that's falling apart. Being handy isn't my strong suit.
Have a good day.

Going to be a busy morning in the shop and since it will be nice and warm today we will find somewhere to go this afternoon.

I think you can buy the same kit at Lowes, Menards, or Home Depot. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07RJ3TH78?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_titleAlso search YouTube for sagging gate repair.

I have discovered that if I want to sleep soundly all night, all I have to do is have physical therapy come and beat the hell out of me for a couple hours. Works like a charm. It should be 70° today. Bright & sunny out there. Hooray!

Lovely sunny day. Retrieving my mountain bike from the shop to serve as transportation until we get a new vehicle for our daughter. She is currently driving my van. I am a grouchy old man and want my vehicle back. I got lots of stuff to haul.
Some yard work this morning, might go for a hike.

Lovely sunny morning here. I'm off to the coffee shop in a bit, then to the grocery store; both my Saturday social time. I plan to play guitar outside when I get home, and to grill something later. I am very happy and fortunate to be able to start doing these things with some help, of course.

Sunny here but only about 50°F. The girls just left for Long Island (lawn-GUY-land) to visit the grandparents. I avoid many of these visits because I am usually drowned out and overwhelmed by the simultaneous talkfest that is my wife's family and can rarely get a word in edge-wise, so I am here with the dog—much happier. Besides, I am not too keen on one or two of the in-laws' family.
Plans include having another coffee, taking a walk, returning a book to the library, starting a biography of film director Sam Fuller my wife gave me, definitely playing some guitar, and perhaps... an afternoon nap. After that, I may just take the dog out for a walk, then watch a film.
Have a peaceful day.

I'd say you're getting the hang of retirement, Howard. Just don't hurry any of those things.

It sure beats the subway ride, the awful neighborhood where the office is, the office itself, and copy editing hacking my way through the work of people who don't know how to write.

Pretty much packed up. We are moving into different digs in the same unit today. When they built this place, they tried to optimize the views from all the units. But naturally some are better than others. We are in the top floor of the Guava building, which has hands down the best view, but we could only get it for a week. We are moving to the second floor today, in the same building, which still has a killer view. And I’m being rushed along by the wife, later peeps.

Windy but otherwise sunny and beautiful. Got the deck furniture out and will tackle the dock later if the wind goes down.
Will be watching the Masters.
Pat worked at her antique store two days in St Paul this week. Went pretty well. First attempt since her stroke in September left her with a significant visual deficit. She never thought she’d work again so it was a big deal. Several coworkers brought her flowers.
I drove down to Northfield to see our trumpet player and his wife in an assisted living where their daughter moved them. He has some increasing cognitive issues and his wife has macular degeneration. They were both legendary teachers and incredibly active people in Alexandria with tons of friends. The assisted living is very nice but it’s a difficult transition. Kind of sad, in fact real sad. It was hard to leave them.
OK back to positivity.

Back from our afternoon outing. Started with lunch at Casa Azul Agave for a wonderful lunch. Billy Bob says it's good. Terry called just as we got done eating. Then a trip to the Hobby Shop where Cheri got a few project kits to do once her work desk is turned into her hobby table. Now it's nap time, Riley says so.

Temp has reached 80 degrees here. I'm guessing that the local Ace hardware store is glad they finally removed their big sign reading:
ICE MELT $12.99, 20 LB. BAG

Wow, certainly no shortage of sensational shots made at today's Masters round! I don't have a favorite in the race, but I am especially impressed by the rookies who are doing so well.
