Good morning. Hade a great day yesterday, birding in the morning, grandkids in the afternoon, total exhaustion in the evening. Good stuff. The only thing I've got on the agenda today is food shopping and muddling around on my guitars. Have a great day.

Good morning. It's National Gardening Day. Go pick a weed or two.
My only plan is to attend the early church service. Enjoy your day.

Both of my gardens are doing great. Did something different this year and build a raised planter for a lot of the smaller stuff that can be planted close. The bigger garden I just planted two weeks ago and it is coming to life. Zucchini, okra, a few cantaloupe, and the three sisters mounds are in that garden. Should be a good harvest this year. The pressure canning system that I bought my wife three years ago still sits new in the box. Looks like I need to learn how to do it.

Good morning.
49F-70F sunny.
Another nice day. We will do our usual Sunday routine. I laid a set of flat wound strings on my bench the other day and I'll be damned if I can find them. That will be my afternoon project.

Looks like a lovely day. Sunny, clear, and it may hit 80 today. Enjoy. The strings will be in the last place you look, Marty, so look there first. 9 more cast days and counting.

Eric got us another gig for Apr. 26th at the Sun City Festival golf course restaurant. Nothing else significant going on today. Rocky’s recovery is proceeding nicely. He’s in his final week of his 30 day recovery. But because he can’t take oral steroids, he’ll still be getting drops for another week or two.

I got wordle in three even though I didn't get a single letter in my opening guess. So today I am brilliant. Tomorrow can take care of itself.
I'm on my way home from a walk in the woods. It couldn't be more beautiful out.

Lovely looking day here, perfect for running around to get a beard trim, some Trader Joe's essentials and a scoop of Culver's cappuccino custard. Masters telly at 1 p.m.

She was over a couple of days ago and conversation turned to birding. I lamented that beyond the red tail, the rough legged and maybe one or two others, I can't tell hawks apart. She agreed that the problem is that the distinctions are too subtle.

Had a wonderful day yesterday. Spent eight hours at Lifestriders. Whoo-hoo! Four hours working with with the kids and therapists and the other four in training. Lifestriders does a yearly review to be sure we know and can perform safety measures to ensure the safety of the riders and that we know how to properly care for and prepare the horses for the therapy sessions.
I now have shows booked for the rest of the year so I decided I "needed" a new wardrobe .So, I did some "on wine" shopping last night. Glass of wine in one hand and my credit card in the other. The order will arrive at the end of the week. I am going to make sure Scott is not home that day. LOL!
Today should be just as nice. It is 75 degrees and my garden is calling me. Going to plant some bulbs and prepare the soil for when my six rose plants arrive from Burpees.
Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone.

I think my excitement over bird sightings is relative to how rare the bird is in my area. Still, I always get a thrill when a heron lifts out of the creek right in front of me, spreading its great prehistoric wings in an audible rush. But if you want to see a great blue you can come to my county and I can show you one any day of the week. They are far from rare in this land of creeks, rivers, and lakes.

I can never pass this place without gawking at it from all the angles by which I pass it. I first approach it to my left and I can see it from 1/2 a mile away. Then I whiz by it (it's vacant and I long ago gave up stuffing the mailbox with standard advertisements). Next I turn right at the crossroads 1/8 mile north of it -- 800S -- which happens to terminate in a turnaround box that has me heading back past it from the vantage point you see in the photo. From there I turn around a mile further down the road on 800S and view the house across a 40 acre hay field from behind. I've always said that if Andrew Wyeth ever visited Northern Indiana -- Kosciusko County -- this is the one house he'd paint. This, of course, because I can't see this house and not have an echo of the Kuerner House in my mind's eye. This is a closeup of the front entryway to that house.

I just showed this photo to Vivian and she said, "Hm! He looks good." I have to admit, it's true.
Mercury is supposed to be rising to about 72°F here today. I'll take it. Sunny until late afternoon, some showers, perhaps thunderstorms, expected.
Like Ken, I have some food shopping and guitar noodling on the agenda today. Perhaps another afternoon nap?
Enjoy your day, people.

Choir isn't singing today so we're skipping in person church to go to the fabulous (and fabulously expensive) Blues, Brews, and BBQ brunch at Loews Ventana Canyon. We'll go a little early to view the fish pond and walk up to the waterfall. Supposed to hit 86 for today's high, but will be a bit cooler at the slightly higher brunch elevation.
Yesterday was an equally gorgeous day. We walked over to Fort Lowell Park. The duck pond is still looking scuzzy after the bottom was sealed months ago. Long story, but the sealant was not suitable for waterfowl. We ended up with an abundance of ducks at our neighborhood pond. Apparently they've gone north for the summer, as neither pond has very many now.

.... The pressure canning system that I bought my wife three years ago still sits new in the box... So, it's not just me. My wife leaves many/most of the gifts I get her unopened in the box. The cool "foot powered" Roto-Rooter? Unopened. The Turtle Wax "Trombone Clean and Shine" kit? Unopened. The Herco "Thistle Puller"? Unopened. The Ronco "Golf Club Wash and Polish Wizzard"? Unopened. Weather Tech's "Tire and Wheel" scrub pads? Unopened. She is just so hard to please!

Good late morning all. It's a nice warm sunny day out there, and a good one for me. I'm tired of wearing ill-fitting sweatpants and shorts that I have to keep hiking up all the time; where they cut me open in the abdomen really does a number on getting anything with a waistband to fit without shifting around all the time. This morning I had a stroke of genius. I got out my Santa suit and dug out the suspenders. So today I'm wearing regular shorts like I usually do, and a t-shirt over the suspenders. I am comfortable, I'm not shifting my clothes around all time, and for the first time in a long time I don't look like someone who just got out of the hospital. I feel good!
There's a concert in Garrison this afternoon, Paleo will pick my up and give me a ride.
