"Today is also the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912."
We had a family friend who grew up in London during WWII, who lost an uncle on the Titanic (a bit before she was born, I imagine).

Next time you're in Belfast, make sure the Titanic museum is on your "to do" list. It's very interesting.

Woke to light rain here. Hmm, I thought it was over. The waterfalls coming off the mountain are spectacular. Sun is trying to peek through the clouds. And the bridge over the Wailua river is supposed open up fully this am which should help bunches with traffic flow and let us hit up the farmers market in Lihue this afternoon. I’ll go for a swim this morning and do laundry. Dinner plans with friends at the Hanalei Dolphin. The best seafood chowder and sushi. 😁

A chuckle
This is Nike’s second uniform blunder of the year. Professional baseball players are complaining that their new pants are transparent. Regarding the Olympic outfits, Lauren Fleshman, a retired US world champion runner, seethed on Instagram that athletes should not have to worry about “constant pube vigilance” and that, “If this outfit was truly beneficial to physical performance, men would wear it.” …….. excerpt

Somewhat relatable Finnish word of the day which I learnt on Threads.
Word of the Day: MULTIPASKING (Finnish) - doing many things at the same time, all badly; ‘paska’ is Finnish for ‘shit’.

We owed thousands on our taxes. Can't say that I paid happily, but I was expecting it. We do like to owe a little, but not that much. I don't think we're going anywhere today. Mr. H has an eye injection tomorrow and it's the eye that he actually uses, so he's trying to get ahead of things in case he can't see well after the injection. I have laundry in the dryer. I had a dream about playing mando last night. That must mean that I've neglected it for too long. I should probably exercise the bass while I'm at it. I use turbotax to do my taxes and they have a tool to estimate what my quarterly needs to be. The 90% estimate usually gets you pretty close so you don’t have to pay much come April.

Today is also the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. Can't forget this one. A lesson in bottleneck virtuosity.
