Good morning. Not much going on here and that's a good thing. Rest and recovery after yesterday's birding and bike riding. Have a great day.

Good morning, everyone. It'll be about 60 to low 90s here, which is pretty nice when the humidity's low. I think I'll head over to the mountain preserve at first light.
I attended a committee meeting yesterday that reminded me how glad I am not to be on many committees these days. It was like being on a ship that kept circling around the harbor because it couldn't figure out how to get to sea.
I'm content with my Wordle score. This one had all the ingredients for a bust.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning. Cloudy and much cooler (53°) in New York this morning.
Not sure what the day holds for me other than some administrative duties and a bit of paperwork.
Coffee comin' up. Enjoy your day, folks.

Good morning. Not much going on here and that's a good thing. Rest and recovery after yesterday's birding and bike riding. Have a great day. Haven't seen it, but I think I've heard it. Unique bird call. Supposedly, there might be an ivory-billed woodpecker in the vicinity of our camp in Mississippi. The forest service comes out to a particular tree from time to time to monitor. I'm sworn to secrecy. They don't want hordes of watchers to descend on the place. And they need certain confirmation.

Beautiful morning here, I'll be doing a bike ride later.
Granddaughter, just finishing her first year at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, just scored a great summer internship at Epic Systems. She can also continue to work part time when school starts next fall if she wants. Epic Systems is the Medical software company. Her mother, my daughter, is a long time employee at Epic.
First batch of rocks cooked in my new rock cooker should be done today. Anxious to check the results.

Horseback riding in Red Rock Canyon today. Been looking forward to this for weeks. Have a great day, everyone. Jan My brother-in-law and I rented a car in Vegas once to visit the dam. The countryside sure looked barren, but something made me want to wander off into it. Haven't seen it, but I think I've heard it. Unique bird call. Supposedly, there might be an ivory-billed woodpecker in the vicinity of our camp in Mississippi. The forest service comes out to a particular tree from time to time to monitor. I'm sworn to secrecy. No one has seen one for decades but enough people have heard them that it's considered evidence that they're still around.

Good morning.
42F-67F partly cloudy.
Got a lot of work done yesterday and will start the day in the shop before heading out on errands. I have the reservation made for the party room and will pay the deposit on that today while I'm out. I will also fill the truck with gas and empty it of trash left behind by loaning it to Zaria. She used it for less than a week and managed to fill it, I wonder what her car looks like after two weeks?

Packing up to leave later. Have a new problem with the truck. Ford apparently has a issue with the cam phasers slipping at around 60k miles., for 2917-19 years. They will cover the repair in certain narrow circumstances, but I suspecting I’m not covered. It’s around $4k bill. The truck should make it home, but I’ll need to get it into ford at so point. Not happy.
Wordle awaits.

Good morning all.
The clinic is usually not terribly busy during exam week, but today appears to be an exception. Just as well, it keeps me out of trouble.
Maybe a thunderstorm or two later today, pretty typical Spring weather for these parts.

We took Rocky to see the eye surgeon last week and he was given a clean bill of health on his recovery from cataract surgery. So he was able to enjoy some swimming over the weekend. Today we take him back to Internal Medicine where they will check his liver values again. They are expected to be back to normal since the cessation of steroids a few weeks ago. If the reading is normal, we'll also stop any further antibiotics.

They are almost identical in appearance and size so there is a huge potential for incorrect id's. BTW, I've seen the videos and all you can see are silhouettes. I don't see how they can get an id off of them, but I'm not an expert. Meanwhile, I changed my mind and went on a bike ride at the Weeki Wachi preserve, I guess I'm just incorrigable.

It's assumed they are around but they'll stay on the list until hard confirmation.

Associated Press
NEW YORK — Donald Trump was held in contempt of court Tuesday and fined $9,000 for repeatedly violating a gag order that barred him from making public statements about witnesses, jurors and some others connected to his New York hush money case. And if he does it again, the judge warned, he could be jailed.
Prosecutors had alleged 10 violations, but New York Judge Juan M. Merchan found there were nine. Trump stared down at the table in front of him as the judge read the ruling, frowning slightly.
The ruling was a stinging rebuke of the Republican former president’s insistence that he was exercising his free speech rights and a reminder that he’s a criminal defendant subject to the harsh realities of trial procedure. The judge’s subtle threat to jail a former president signaled that Trump’s already precarious legal standing could further spiral depending on his behavior during the trial.

FWIW, news as of yesterday evening was that my musical friend got through the triple bypass procedure OK. I'm relieved but not surprised--he's a healthy-seeming 60-year-old (though carrying a bit more weight than is prudent and with a taste for cigars) and the St Cloud Hospital's cardiac department is quite highly rated. Still, it was good to hear the so-far-so-good news. Aside from the inevitable healing and rehab process, the next concern is how he's going to navigate running his sole-proprietor business, which depends on his particular skill-set.

Just a shot across the bow. Next time -- and we all know there will be more -- is where it could get interesting.
