www.freerice.com/index.phpThe kids and I found this last night (on a tip). Perhaps just a few too many oddball words. But fun, and when you get them a second time, you are ready for them. (I can stay above 45, but I haven't hit 50. But a few more times, and I think I will.)

I'm stuck on 40. Lots of words I've never heard of, but the root words are a good clue. Oh, and it took 1760 grains of rice to get there.

I thought I was doing good until I saw the little score at the bottom. I think I went through 8 words & I got one of those wrong. My score finally went from 30 to 31.
Some kid somewhere is not going to get his rice, because I quit early.

47 with 4000 grains of rice.
I wonder how the study of Latin correlates with good scores here. I guessed using Latin a lot.

I think Latin would have helped me a lot. But I only know pig latin, and that wasn't useful at all.

I guessed that 8 words was a good time to get out.
Although I went to Catholic schools as a kid where I heard a lot of Latin.

I'll check this one out later. Carrie is home from school, my fever is up to 102ยบ, and I'm gonna go crash until the big kids get home. A bit leary of trying a new game.....I'm still stuck on "Boomshine".

If you don't know the word, and a wild sheep, goat, dog, or turtle is offered as an option, go with the wild sheep, goat, dog, fish, or turtle.

I couldn't make it past 47.
Sekh, I think you're right, knowing at least some Latin makes some semi-educated guesses possible.

Never could get past 41. Donated 1300 and something grains of rice, though.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night and still couldn't get past 40. Consistently at 38/39, highest was 41 and I nenver took Latin -- I was guessing a lot.

How long does it go on? I was hovering around 46, but I had to quit. Not sure how much rice there was.

How long does it go on? I was hovering around 46, but I had to quit. Not sure how much rice there was. I was feeling pretty bad cuz I missed one at 43 points, then soothed my ego by reminding myself that in my job, I don't memorize so much as verify -- I look up A LOT of words I am not sure of, which is why my dictionary is so tattered.

I got 47 and quit at 3000 grains of rice. How long does this thing go on? Having a medical/bio/science background helps a lot on this.

Hey, where's Prude when you need her? I'll bet she could knock down some serious rice.
