...the key to the whole thing -- which I was not expecting -- is the NECK... It is so freaking solid and you don't realize how much that translates into power and ease of play... Luthiers have long realized this. Some luthiers are experimenting with necks of solid Brazilian Rosewood and solid Ebony. Of course that radically alters the balance of a traditionally built wooden instrument but it translates into tone and control as Bill said. - Dub

I think I have finally realized that current Martin guitars, other than my 00-14 fret are just not really for me anymore. I sold my 00-12 fret custom last week to a very happy new owner and friend of mine. The guitar is wonderful, my hand was an issue and it is not as warm as my other 00. I fear a Goodall for the most part will not be warm enough for me, maybe a traditional model in the right woods. There is an all hog 000 I need to play again but I am not spending that much money, not know. One full length guitar seems to be it for me, and my 24 inch scale for when my hands are really acting up....If I buy something keep your eyes opened, it will probably be up for sale even faster than a Bill sale.
