It's that time of year again, and this time it's The SoundHole's first ever Secret Santa!
For those that have done this in the past, it's been a lot of fun and everyone has enjoyed it.
For those who have never participated or never heard of it, here's how it works:
1. If you wish to participate, send an email to soundholesanta@yahoo.com and include the following information:
- YOUR BOARD NAME HERE
- YOUR REAL NAME
- YOUR MAILING ADDRESS
- A LIST OF INTERESTS, HOBBIES, MUSICAL LIKES, ANYTHING TO HELP SOMEONE PICK A NEAT GIFT FOR YOU
Example:

My favorite style of music to play is country, and I want to learn some blues licks. I have a 1976 Fender F-35 as my main guitar, and I am still a "newbie" as far as skill level goes, but am coming along nicely. I also like sports, and I am a Cubs fan and a FSU fan in college football. I like classic movies such as westerns, and enjoy sports books. I enjoy collecting antique breweriana and memorabilia for my home bar.
2. Once you submit your information, just wait. On or around December 1, you will get an email from Kris Kringle, AKA the Soundhole Santa. You will be randomly given someone else's name and information.
3. Begin shopping! Select a present, or number of small items for the name you were given. In the past, we have generally kept the gift value at or around $20. Some people spend more, some less, but to make it fair for everyone, we have found twenty dollars to be a good benchmark. If you'd like to spend more, feel free.
4. Once you get the perfect gift, package it up, and ship it to the person whose name you received. Don't put your name on it, just write Secret Santa.
5. Likewise, you will receive a gift from a forumite. Once you get your gift, you can log on to the forum, and try to guess who your Secret Santa is on the Official Secret Santa thread.
This event is a lot of fun, and I think we had about 20 people participate last year. Everyone really enjoyed it.
Once you receive your information on the person you are buying for, you can email Kris Kringle at soundholesanta@yahoo.com if you need more information about the person and he can contact him/her to get some more hobbies, interests, or any other information to help gift buying go better.

Santa will take signups for this all through the month of November, and will close the signups at noon, Pacific Standard Time on Friday, Dec 1, 2006. Your information will be sent out soon after.
