Yes, I emailed the preliminary stuff to another Mod, and we have discussed it today as well. We have a few small changes, and then we want to present it to the forum.
I will likely start a thread later today when I have time to type it all up, that is how I am proposing some things as far as a Council, service terms, etc.

No prob! It slowed down here at work, briefly, and I am trying to check out music sites, guitar stuff, speakers, amps, etc. all in a few minutes while I cram down some coffee!

I hear that the absence of a set of rules for our behaviour is upsetting someone on another forum. Apparently it's just part of a plot to destroy them.
Frankly, I think, given the fact that we have been in operation for a month without anyone seriously insulting anyone else, we can assume that the membership consists of adults who are able to get along without rancour. In that instance we don't need any but the lightest touch of moderation.
I would be happy to leave the guidelines for board usage at that - civil behaviour is expected.

You've said much what I said in another thread on "suggestions":
"I'll keep an open mind but I think the rules Cribbs posted at the outset are the only rules we need. I'm very concerned that if we overreact to our recent divorce, we'll take the zip out of the place. I'd prefer a very lightly moderated place. People need leeway. The occasional loss of temper or snide comment ought to be ignored or dealt with by an off-line word to the wise. This is a good group of people that I expect to be largely self-regulating. Direct intervention ought to be a last resort."
The question of whether we need some governmental structure--a council, or whatever--is a different question. I suspect that such a governing body would have virtually nothing to do but it's good to have one in place in case the unexpected occurs.
