It's just my opinion, and I've already voiced it in another thread, but I've become increasingly convinced that it does nothing but breed bad feelings. And I've found that I'm not alone. Having that feature is like resurrecting the worst of junior high school.

I am for it. I wonder if it should be voted on first.

Yeah, I think so. If we're a minority, fine. It won't ruin my life.
If in doubt, let's vote. Setting up a separate voting booth was a VERY good idea, Derriel.

It was fun to play with at first, but now I don't even know the karma thingy is there. It can go as far as I am concerned.

It don't matter to me. I like sprinkling it around when I see folks who don't have much. But if it's a problem, I say let it go away.
So I guess I'm up for a vote.

I kind of like ti but it's not a big deal. Doesn't mean anything.

I think it would be neat to use for caption contests and stuff. You know, winner gets 15 karma points or something silly.

I should add that I initially proposed junking karma before I and others started getting regularly smited by someone from the old forum who registered here under an unfamiliar name and is using the karma thing to get even for perceived grievances. That's after he anonymously did his best to hurt some other people's feelings before we instituted registration. Why give the mean-spirited people of the universe an opportunity for anomymous evil?

I noted and compared the IP to old records. I restored your karma points that were smited.
I'll handle it.

karma points are a good idea for picture captions and other contests. I had not thought about that. The ones for popularity vote though aren't necessarily all that much fun.

Well I suppose that some of you just don't care to be karmalized. I see no harm either way. I'm neither for or against apathy!

I think it is too bad that persons use the karma/smite buttons to try and hurt others. My guess is that most people ignore it. If it went away I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Mike

There is very little smiting going on, just from a problem user.

If I don't get more soon, I think it should go away. I feel the same way about sex.
;D ok then, that takes care of the 1st part.

I can't do anything about your sex problem (and don't want to), but I sent you some karma. ;D

The whole Karma, Exalt/Smite thing is stupid, so I ignore it. If it goes away that's fine, if it stays I will always ignore it. It's a non-issue to me.

Yes, I have noted that the karma thing is being used in an incredibly childish way and I'm pretty sure who the silly boy is. *sigh* whatever. Some people can't take a toke, they have to make brownies.
I wouldn't mind if we canned it, except that it is a little like giving control to Mr. Petty and I don't mean Tom.
