I favor turning karma off. It allows people to take anonymous shots at other forumites. We don't allow that from unregistered users and we shouldn't allow it from registered users.
My name is Cornflake and I approved this message.

I voted to turn it off. It just seems so junior high.
Wow the smilies seem to be jumpin'.

Off. Flammable. Potential for misuse - already seen. It's easy enough for misunderstandings to arise on the net without knives to throw at people.

Turn it off, that's my preference, although it won't affect me either way.

If it's used in a fun way, it could be a good thing. I'd say wait a month and see what happens. It seems the Karma thing has great Fun Friday potential, done right.

I agree with the idiot... yikes. I'd better send him an exalt for the broom on his upper lip.

I agee with the idiot also. Could be fun. Could make one think twice 'bout posting something less than appropriate.

I've mostly been exalting people cuz its fun and it feels good. Plus you're giving them kudos for something they said you think is right.
I supppose ther is potential for abuse or hurt feelings. Then again its a way of letting someone know if you think they're out of line. Not that they necessarily care.
I don't mind waiting to see if starts to become the problem some folks think it might and then vote it out later. But at 15 to 4, looks like its gone anyway.

If everyone uses it in the "proper" spirit it's harmless. It only takes one though. ;D If someone's karma number becomes negative, perhaps that person could be banished to the Sound Hole time-out room for a while.

I voted for it. I like the idea of "exalting" someone for something above and beyond the call of duty. But it's no biggy
I actually smote someone once publicly just for yuks. But I gave the point back a day later when my stinger grew back.

I voted for karma because I haven't had a chance to smite anyone yet and I feel I'm missing out on something.

If Karma gets turned off, then shouldn't 'smilley' and 'angry' faces be turned off too?

I voted to keep it. I agree with VI that it has lots of fun potential. I also like giving someone karma for various good deeds/posts.

I voted to keep it because I haven't gotten any yet and until I get some of that good, good karma, I'll never know what I've been missing. Maybe it's better that way.
