Stopped briefly after music practice today to visit Todd.
He was out of bed sitting in a chair.
I don't think playing guitar in any key is his main concern yet.
He is doing PT and OT, gaining strength and learning how to walk with a walker and then a cane. It's hard work for him, even simple things like standing unsupported and brushing his teeth.
He is hoping to go home relatively soon, and then commute to the hospital for continuing therapy.

My status and thoughts seem unimportant This morning. However, I do plan to visit Todd this afternoon.

A side buckle handle. A inline handle. For my case I would need the side buckle type. My immediate solution is to set that case aside and use one of my other ones, while I work on a resolution.

The forecast says rain, but the sun is currently shining.
The fake leather cover, on my Martin guitar case handle is coming apart. Unglued on one end, Unglued and torn on the other.
All my superglue containers have dried up, so I guess I have an excuse to visit Theisens.

I don't watch a lot of basketball, but I did catch the Iowa women's game yesterday against Holy Cross. Iowa was sluggish, maybe rusty, during the first qt. but then they got it going. Boy are they fun to watch when they get it going.
Iowa ended up winning 91-65 with Hannah Stuelke, a Ceder Rapids girl, on the bench in the second half with a migraine.
It looked to me like an attempt to intimidate Catlin Clark, when one of the Holy Cross players punched her in the face. Those of us that have watched Clark through high school and college know that she isn't intimidated easily and she isn't afraid to rough house with anyone. The final score showed who ended up being intimidated.

Good morning, there's a cold wind blowing, snow, ice, rain are coming. I've been out in it this morning, having breakfast at the Urbana fireman's breakfast. I should have just dropped off some money and left, it was pretty bad.
After breakfast I drove around for a while to get the truck fully warmed up, I hadn't driven it in a month. About a mile south of my house is the Cedar River and there are some pretty big hils near it. This morning there were kids, going down one of the snow covered hills in kayaks. Them seemed to be having fun.

A chilly morning, all that snow from Friday, 4-5 inches, is keeping the temperature down. I moved a little bit of snow yesterday, but it was really too wet for the snowblower and it was too heavy to shovel, a real "heart attack" snow.
Todd should make it to Virginia Gay today!

Good morning? More than an inch of snow here, about 12-18 inches piled up against my garage door, an inch or 2 on the driveway. I'll probably go clean in front of the garage when the snow stops.
Forecast is for 60 degrees on Sunday.

Today my daughter and Granddaughter will head to Scotland, via London, for the Irish Dance World Championships. My Granddaughter has retired from competition, but she is going as a coach. World medalists are in high demand as coaches, and she finds time to do some coaching in addition to a full college load and a part time job.
As for me, I'll make a grocery store run this afternoon, in preparation for some potentially foul weather the next couple days.

Good afternoon, I'm just home from a visit with Todd. He continues to improve, and it looks like he will be moving to Vinton in the very near future. He's anxious to move.

I've been procrastinating all morning about breakfast and now it's almost noon.
I need to do some grocery shopping so I think I'll leave soon, have lunch at the family restaurant and then shop for groceries.

I went to visit Todd this evening and I can verify what Dub said. Todd said to tell everyone hi, and that he knows he's mending, but he still has a ways to go. I'm planning to visit again on Wednesday. Big discussion tonight was if he should shave (get shaved), I take that as a good sign.

Good morning. We had an eventful open mic last night at the Brickside, in Vinton.
Right after our first trip to the mics, (Phil and I performed together), a gentleman stopped to talk to me. I knew he looked and sounded vaguely familiar, but couldn't think of who he was.
Turns out he was with a group of us that spent a lot of time camping at a local lake - in the summer of 1968!
I don't think we had crossed paths since then. He was there (open mic) to support one of the other participants, heard me singing and recognized me.

Nice day here, not much planned entil evening. Tonight is the open mic at Brickside in Vinton, 6-9. I'll head over early and help Phil set up the sound system.
We'll be thinking of and missing Todd tonight.

Good morning, rain here this morning. I was planning for a break in The rain this morning so I could make a dry grocery store run. I'll now try for this afternoon.
The house next to me is for sale, part of an estate that needs to be taken care of. The house has had little or no maintenance for the past 10-15 years and it shows. This morning a septic service crew showed and they are digging up the back yard. That don't look good.

Glad to hear you're making good progress in your recovery.
To cheer you up I'm thinking of performing that special song; "Almost Heaven, Rest Virginia" at the Brickside open mic on Friday.
Anxious for you to get back home!!

Good morning, another nice day before a little cool down and maybe a little rain.
I have some guitar homework to do before Friday's open mic. Phil and I will do a couple songs together, one of which is new to me.
