With all the things happening over the last month, some good, some bad, some things you just have to take care of yourself, I happened to be flipping though the stations on the radio and came across some radio show that was talking about moments that changed your direction in life. The show was saying everyone has a few. It started to make me think about some of the choices I've made during my life. Like when I decided not to go back to college after the first year. What if I decided to stay instead of going back a few years later If I did I probably wouldn't be doing what I'm doing now. Or the time, I met this one girl who I was really happy with, but decided the time wasn't right for me to get married so I broke it off. ( after all I was 21 ) What if I wasn't scaried and stayed??? I think the biggest decision I made was a few years later, when I decided to leave my hometown and moved across the country to go back to school because it was too hard to finish school, because we ( my friends and I ) would go out and drink all night if you know what I mean, the only problem was, I was planning on moving back home after and I never did. It's funny how I came across this show at this time because my second oldest is in the process of being recuited to play lacrosse at the college level. How about you guys??? What moments in your life changed your direction in life??

I thought that Virginia was going to pull it out in OT, Hopkins was making some big mental mistake late in the game. Then when Virginia turned it over, and Hopkins had another chance, I thought they might pull it off. The older Stanwick ( from Virginia ) had a pretty good game. Will see how they do later in the season.

I'm having my house painted in two weeks( it's a two story ). The guy is pressure washing, putting 2 coats of paint on the house, trim, railing, and gutters. Hes also sealing and staining the deck. ( the deck wraps around the house) The cost $4000. I thought that was high, but I got a few quotes for $8000.

If you would have told me Indiana scored 90, I would have said they must of hammered Kentucky.

I read that the NFL, knew about this, and told the Saints to stop, and they continued. So the Saints got what they deserved. I do feel bad that Peyton won't be able to collect his 6 million this year.

Sorry I didn't mean to turn this into a religious thing.
Maybe this might help, I was raised as a Catholic, My parents were Catholic, My grandparents were Catholic and so on, and so on. Now saying that, I couldn't tell you the last time I was in church, Because I don't agree with some of the the Catholic teachings, I believe that all religions have their good points and bad points. I also believe that through time, many of our morals and judgements were based on religious beliefs handed down and taught to us from generation to generation, until we believe what we want or perseve today.
With that being said, generations & generations ago religions influenced what we believe to be right and wrong, which down the line, your grandparents taught your patients, who taught you, what they though was right from wrong. So today, you believe its right thing to do. Based on the teaching of your family history, and things you have learn thought out your life.
And when I die, I'm hoping and praying their is more to the afterlife, and a superior being, and I'm told that I have grown spirituality and have done some good for mankind. and that I may continue on my journey to higher enlightment. I hope God forgives me for what I'm about to say, If and when when I die, and it just ends, thats it, nothing else. I'm going to be pissed off, because I sure would have made some different choices in life, if not for the morals that were instilled long ago.
Fingerpluck - I was hoping you would say, this is what I've learn and was taught thoughtout my life, and how I feel about this subject or that. I was hoping somewhere deep inside. you thought that there was more too life, then beginning born, living, and then take a dirt nap. As far as religion doing wrong and evil things, I agree with you, just look at the crusades, or the sitution in the mid-east today.

I was trying to stay away from this one, but once you guys mentioned Monopoly( which I play with my daughter all the time) and D&D ( which I played back in my college days) by the way I've moved on to World of Warcraft ( WOW ) and let's not talk about the New Star Wars. Sorry I went off on that tangent, back to the subject at hand. I have to agree with Mike, I believe there is something spiritual going on with the universe. I can understand if someone is not religious ( meaning going to church every weekend). Now I hope that I don't offend anyone here, but to say when you die that's it. Or there's no God!!!! Really,I just don't understand that. If thats the case, then Why don't you just do anything you want??? Without any moral consideration, why show any compassion or Love to you wife, children or others, Why pay your bills??? I believe that we are put here to learn and grow before we move on, and I believe that God gives us to some challenges in life, they maybe easy and they maybe difficult. With each problem hopefully we learn something. And what does your wife and children think about you not believing, what type of lesson are you teaching them??? I believe there are alot of things that you can not explain in life, I also believe that evil exist, so why would you want to go looking for it. Sometimes you just need to have faith, and hope things work out for the best. As the say each day is a new learning experience.

Just another thought, I believe they are dropping out of the Big 12 conference , and moving to a real football conference the SEC either next year or the year after. Neal Boortz went there, and one more I believe it's in Texas.

It's a Big 12 school, use to be a/ and still maybe a military school, it has a well known research dept. And the Bush Presidential Library is located on their campus. And I'm sure it pretty expensive to go there.
