Cool Even.
The surprise of first snow is a thing of beauty. But winter wears heavily when it doesn't just melt into jacket weather like i suspect you'll be seeing shortly.
Personally I'm on a mission to NOT scratch myself raw. It started early this season. I had already scratched myself to big discomfort before getting a reprieve with a trip to Mexico. Since getting back, I've been on a mission to avoid the desire to ITCH. In a bazaar twist of fate, I've been using sun-tan lotion (spf 30) to butter up my bod in a drastic attempt to combat the dryness. My house has a pretty good humidifier, so it's tolerable at home. But last night, after racquetball, I'm sitting in a small tavern with some guys, and it was soooooooooo dry in there I could feel my skin start to burn from terminal dryness.
"Get me out of here !"
So I hurried home and buttered up heavily before bed.
"Surf's up."

I like the picture, Evan. Those of us who live where snow is uncommon have a different and more favorable view of it.
Good morning, all. I slept very late. That doesn't happen unless my body needs the sleep, so I guess I did. Thermometer says 43F. In a husky voice. Have a good one.

Cameron came home last night so it was group hugs and an hour of going through all his art projects for the semester. One of his friends is having a difficult time with his parents (and from my point of view watching from the outside, I have to admit that the kid has a point) so he is planning on spending about half of the Christmas break living with someone else. He has put out feelers to two families including ours. While I have no problem with him living here, I wanted to make sure that his parents were on board with the whole 'running away from home - a few blocks away" deal. Turns out they are. They talked about it over the thanksgiving break and decided that it might be best for him to have a break from the stresses his family put on him. While I don't feel all that comfortable with potentially assisting in this family's drama, I do care about the kid and from afar I see what he is going through.
So I told Cameron that I was glad that he (Cameron) wanted to spend Christmas with us.... at which point he almost spit milk through his nose.

Personally I'm on a mission to NOT scratch myself raw. I've been using baby oil. I slather it on after my shower, from my neck on down. It doesn't smell, keeps my skin only dry (rather than dry, cracking & peeling off), and reduces static cling. It took me a couple days to adjust to it though. The first day I dried off, dressed, and jumped in my car to head to work. But I kept sliding out of the seat. I've since learned to affix double-sided tape to the seat of my pants & have been having no trouble at all. (Except on turns.)
