I worried quite a lot over the appearance that the action to move over here would seem to some, at least in some way, mean-spirited.
And if the way it all transpired was about getting back at someone, or banning someone, or demanding to have my way, I might agree to a degree of "meaness" that went beyond mere misunderstanding.
But that's not how it happened. At least not in my case, or the case of others with whom I've discussed this new place.
What happened in my case was that I was gone. Past tense. I didn't think it my right to demand changes at the old TTT. Heck, that would not only have been hubris on my part to think that TTT should mold itself to my wishes, but as far as I knew, everyone but me was as happy as a clam at high tide with the forum just as it was. I still think that's true, even of a majority who have come over here to the new site.
But what was different was that coincidentally -- NOT conspiratorially -- I found out that not everyone WAS as happy as a clam at high tide. I found out that coincidentally -- NOT conspiratorially -- others were deciding that they'd had enough as well.
That means that, regardless of what did or did not go on at the old TTT, there were several of us who had decided to call it quits there. When we realized that we had all thus decided, Cribbs graciously took it upon himself to make a place for us to go.
There was never any intent on my part to rub anyone's nose in the change. I doubt that it was anyone else's.
It merely came down to those who were leaving to either keep in touch by email (which proved to be quite clumsy) or come, when invited, to this new place.
