The House bill's shameful give-away to trial lawyersSection 2531, entitled “Medical Liability Alternatives,” establishes an incentive program for states to adopt and implement alternatives to medical liability litigation. [But]…… a state is not eligible for the incentive payments if that state puts a law on the books that limits attorneys’ fees or imposes caps on damages. [/size][/blockquote][/i]

Another change you can believe in.

I can't offhand imagine a reasonable basis for that provision.

I'd like to see the full context. If it is as it seems, surely they had to know there would be an outcry.

(but they're learning very quickly that the outcry doesn't matter. In fact, when the outcry happens, it comes from the likes of FOX and then the rest of media can comfortably ask: "Well FOX :roll eyes: is reporting ____, what say you?" And they respond, "it's not true." ....and the media is satisfied, and the story becomes that FOX is foolishly tilting at yet another windbag.)

The blog site has some heartwarming comments, e.g.:
"We have the 2010 election upcoming. For those we don't remove there we can always exercise our 2nd Amendment Right."

I'm not a Constitutional scholar by any means, but isn't there a difference between the right to keep and bear arms (2nd amendment) and actually shooting attorneys, lawmakers, etc.?

We'll have to check for precedents. Was the guy that Cheney shot a lawyer?

Since I have a law degree, I'd like to think so.

I checked. Yup the guy Cheney shot was an attorney out of Austin, Tx. So we have a precedent that it's OK to shoot lawyers. Case closed.

The article I read about Cheney shooting the attorney from Austin didn't say whether the attorney was horny or not. They did say he was 78 years old so there may be some minimum age requirement.

IMNSHO, no fault accident insurance, and an inability to sue medical staff, would go a long ways to cutting many of societies more ridiculous costs.
