I had a cat who had that--overweight cat that quit eating (we went on a vacation and put him in a kennel for 2 weeks, and he sort of stopped eating at the kennel). Unfortunately, he did not survive it. I hope yours does better.

Hopefully it will go well. They are such tough little buggers. I had a cat come in through my window, with one knee destroyed. He hopped into a chair, curled up with the ruined leg stuck straight over his head, and fell asleep. They don't show a thing until they are ready to drop.
My children would dearly love a cat - I love them a ton, but I've had too many things destroyed by cats over the years.

We are bringing Chaplin home later today, but he has not improved all that much. We are hoping that we will be able to get him to eat on hs own, and we will be using a surgically implanted feeding tube to help. He may have had this condition long enough that he can't break the cycle of not eating and/or his liver may be too damaged for him to recover. We'll know in a few days. Unfortunately, Patricia is irrationally beating herself up thinking that she should have noticed more and much earlier. In other news, Graham was tagged by a line drive just to the left of his kneecap, and I broke my left index finger while lowering the canoe into the water. (Dante joined me for a couple of short rides yesterday. He was surprisingly calm.) And he just vomited baby back ribs onto the hall carpet. Good morning.

I sure hope he recovers. Kitties are good friends.
(I'm still beating myself up at not noticing a decline in my dear Tiglet, who passed away in January, I believe from kidney failure. Sometimes you think they just don't like the flavor of the cat food, because that is such an ongoing issue with cats--as in the Mutts comic strip, they "snub!"--that you disregard it when they go off their feed for a few days, especially if they are pretty tubby to start with.)

How about a little James endorsed stroke (with the right index finger) under the chin from me. Oh yeah and one for Chaplin too

My son's cat Bowser almost went under with a liver problem. He was in Kitty ICU for three days and had to be hand fed for a month. He even went blind for a few days. The good news is he came back strong if a bit tetched in the head. But you can't hardly tell with cats anyways Best of luck t-Bob ...
