Don, the VW bug takes me back. mmm. To doing 360s on a frozen lake pretending that we were practicing for winter weather. Holy. It's quite amazing to have survived childhood.
Great little car - and I bet it is fun to drive!
It snowed a lot yesterday and it is very cold.
Rachel and I are off to the reserve this afternoon for visitation. *sigh* He was sick for two weeks, then gone.

Great little car - and I bet it is fun to drive! The original Beetles were SUCH fun to drive in the snow. All that traction and all that weight in the back, I could put mine sideways for a block or more and just steer with the gas pedal. The new ones are cute and all, but FWD, so the only way you are gonna do donuts is in reverse (or with the handbrake) ... I rented one last year in NC, liked it except I was surprised by the limited rear visibility. (Not always a bad thing, though... )

Technology can be a real pain in the ass. I'm doing my best to get my new BluRay to connect to the internet for Netflix and stuff. It can't find the network wirelessly and I'll be damned if I'm going to run Cat 5 from the router to the player, too far and too difficult, plus I'm out of ports. Perhaps the manufacturer has a help desk with someone I can understand and who knows what he/she is talking about. Interestingly enough, this BluRay player doesn't seem to be much better than the sorta high end Denon DVD/CD recorder/player I own. Have a musical day, or a lazy one, or a day just like all the other ones. It is, after all, the day of rest. (Boyoboyoboy, that is a thing of the past, but missed by me.) Rant over. Puffing on the eCig... Just a thought, but have you thought about the security settings on your wireless router? When setting up my Roku box, I had the same problem. I had to enter the Roku mac address into the router software to allow the box to even see the network, then enter the wep code into the Roku to sign on.

My Sony Blu-Ray hooked up without an issue; so did the Apple TV. As did the Wii. I have too many ways to get stuff to my TV.
Had a good day yesterday in amp class (actually "electronics class" but the big project we do is building an amp). We got all of our components and started drilling holes in the chassis for tubes, knobs, transformer mounts, etc. 3 12AX7s, 1 5AR4, four EL84s. I'm already dreaming up my mods (shutting off two of the power tubes for reduced power, a resistor swap for more power section distortion, some other thoughts). And labels for knobs. Who wants boring ones like stand by, volume, etc.?

The sun just set on a nearly perfect day on the island. Didn't do much other than daily chores, but the sun was out most of the day and it didn't rain and it was warm enough to sit outside for a little while. Even got in some guitar practice.
