Had the alarm set for 4:45 AM to see the alignment of 4 planets + maybe 2 more with telescope or binocs. Looked out the window and saw the same smoke that's been hanging around here for days. No viewing. There are a few fires on both sides of the border. Except for a relatively small one that is already out, none are very close to us, but we are in the plume.
Phone meeting with our Phoenix financial advisor today. If he doesn't start giving some real advice, we may be going with someone more local. Dinner with our social club. Too bad they picked a Mexican restaurant. It's going to be crowded on Cinco de Mayo.
Well, that's all a pretty negative start to the day. Actually, I wasn't feeling negative until I read my own post.

Happy Tortoise Day, everyone!
Oh, Toisday? Never mind. Just glued together one of the tops for my lap steels, one more to go. Next up is sanding to thickness, then gluing onto the bodies, finalizing the shapes from the rough cuts I did earlier, binding the fingerboards, binding the bodies...

Good morning. Warm and very dry here. The humidity went down to 2 percent yesterday, which is rare even for us. New Orleans radio was commenting on the ultra-low humidity in the forecast for the day: 52% I kid you not. We hit 2% a couple of times when I lived in Tucumcari.
