Another day upon us.
And a couple of comments...
Dogs do not have far to go to get to heaven. If they're not already in heaven, talk to their "owners" about it. "Share the road" Huh! Too many bicyclists out here have a 'tude - they want the benefits and status of both pedestrians and road vehicles. One Nazi biker left the road (in a designated bike lane) to avoid a puddle and challenged me walking my dog on the sidewalk for rights of use. Me - "Please get off my sidewalk." Eventually, it happened. (Shit, now I've got myself started - I guess I can fuggedaboud sleep.)
I need to replace strings on all three of my guitars. I have the strings, one of Marty's winders, so may as well get it done right now.
Enjoy the day, folks and folkettes.

Yard work yesterday. New pressure washer due in today. Pool party Saturday. Too much work to do. Got to get golf in here somewhere. At least the 82 degree pool water felt good after weeding and mulching yesterday.

Slept for crap and hocking up greenies (sorry.) Spring colds are the worst. Also dealing with factions in the office who are at each other's throats. Hope I don't have to end up firing somebody, but if they failed to heed my counseling yesterday, we may see some new faces soon. I actually have better things to do...
I, too, want to smack the b'jeezis out of cyclists that forget they are vehicles, T-Bob. They give the majority who abide by the rules a bad name. They're about as irritating as that minority of the drivers out there who go out of their way to crowd cyclists.

Paul, I realize there are more than a few like you out there. They are so outnumbered by the idiots - especially on weekends since I live in a tourist destination. Many of them don't even ride tandem on narrow twisty roads, and then get pissed when they get it pointed out to them. I am sorely tempted, but have never followed through, to clip one of them with my passenger mirror. Just the fantasy is enough for me, obviously the reality could, and most likely would, be a disaster.

Yep, hot here today. My back went bad on me yesterday, I have a 30 mile drive to a rehearsal this morning, and a 20 mile drive the other direction to a recording session tonight, and I can hardly sit up straight... oh, well, beats lifting bricks.

Mornin'.....
Sure am enjoying the quiet here this week with Ty at camp. Shay got called in to work this morning, so it's extra quiet. Barb will head in to her office, Carrie will go to summer school. It'll just be me and the dog.
Not like I don't have anything to do. I've started going through Mark Hanson's The Art of Solo Fingerpicking. Back into dedicated learning and practice mode. Recently got acquainted with Mark at Facebook and in the process of inquiring about instructional material to learn how to use TAB (never have), ended up emailing back and forth a few times. Really good guy, very accommodating. Before I ordered the books (also bought his Masters of Slack Key), he emailed me a pdf on TAB reading.

I see the Missouri River is misbehaving again, threatening the town of Hamburg, IA, the first town across the Iowa border on I-29. Levees are being threatened from Omaha (the city) to Kansas City. I'm glad Jeff (Omaha the person) lives far enough West he won't be threatened (I hope) but I am concerned. The Friendship Bridge (or whatever it's called) probably has an awesome view of the power of the river.
The fires are raging to the East.

Big day for my dollinks -- Elderdottir has finished her semester in Sweden and welcomed her mother there a week ago. They are currently in Brugge, Belgium, and early tomoro morning will board high-speed rail for PARIS, where Yungerdottir, who is currently flying from Charlotte to Philly, will meet them in the morning. The three have rented an apartment for five days, then they all return to NC next Tuesday, all on separate flights. All very complicated, but that was the only way it could be done financially ....

Thats some wacky scheduling there, Bill....but sounds like a good time. We're living in a murky, brownish haze here today.....compliments of the Eastern AZ wildfires. If you haven't checked out the Decorah eagles lately, stop by and talk a look. I've left that link open since they hatched. The nest is almost too small for the darn near full grown eaglets. When they flap their wings for exercise, they slap each other. And they are constantly flinching and shaking their heads.....there are so many flies hanging around the nest due to all their food debris, they get no relief.

Stopping in to say "good evening".
As the other midwesterners have reported...it's HOT here! Yowsah!!
Spent the afternoon in the cool of our AC'd lower level with my music partner. 4 hours of playing and what a great time we had. When MrR got home we made our way out to the deck where it was cooling off a little and talked and grilled. Such a nice day.
Perfect first day of "reretirement"!! ;D

really hot here in Gatlinburg. Went to Cades Cove and walked up a trail. Too much up for me. Bailed at 1.5 miles and walked back to the trail head. Car overheated because everyone was crawling down the one way watching for something wild in the field in first gear. Yikes. Some lovely 'mericans stopped and put more water in the rad and away we went. 'mericans are like that. Pretty damned nice. Mostly
