IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD TODAY!Or Not. Although MSNBC is already reporting it as if it didn't happen. We'll see, we'll see. The End of the World:

Funny. That one reminds me of a fav Bruce Cockburn tune. Not funny, but great.

Morning. Looks like today is going to be a non-rain day with winds under 50 mph. Did you find your long-johns? I didn't know you owned underwear. Not needed today. I'm sticking with my short jimmies.

Had a great hike yesterday, but it's dry, dry, dry. That may be why Mr. H and I lingered at the wilderness boundary where there was water running in the creek. With that and stopping to look at plants and bugs, etc., it took us 3 hours for the 5 mile round trip.
Mom seems to be doing OK. I've talked to her 3 times since her heart attack 2 days ago. She's totally coherent and has been up walking around with a therapist. She couldn't get around too well before the latest event, so that's a good sign. The disturbing thing is that it has only been a year and 6 months since her first heart attack. The next one or pneumonia or another fall or whatever happens could be it.
Not much on the agenda here today. Our usual 2 mile walk, running some errands, playing guitar, maybe getting the camper cleaned out.
I'm doing a sing-along now. Can you hear me?

Oh crap, it's the end of the world and I'm just getting the hang of this Photoshop thing. Just my luck.

...Up and going after a late night pickin' at the Third Thursday Jam at the HPPR studios. Some different folks, nice variety of tunes. As it happens, we attended a jam last night too. It was the twice-monthly swing jam in Iowa City. We've been going for a while. Guitars, piano, double bass, trumpet, saxophones, etc. We play from Hal Leonard's Real Book Volume I: Sixth Edition though we sometimes throw in other charts and occasionally play from memory. Last night was a good one. There is another fiddler so she and Fiddlerina traded between lead and harmony. Good stuff. - Dub

I wish I had been there Dub. Please give Fiddlerina a huge big old lioness hug from me. Got to my motel with no incidents, unless you call a wonderful Italian meal in London nothing much. Love the new car. So reliable. Nice to travel knowing that you'll actually get there. See Lars tomorrow. I actually miss him
