brought to you on the early side by one of the insomaniacs of the forum.
I may have found a very cool place to live. It's a nature preserve "commune" in West Marin, where they need someone with cooking skills AND a handyman. And the rent is reasonable to begin with. I'll be checking the place out - and vice versa - this weekend. It's also a dog rescue, which is something I can relate to. It's definitely time to get out of this house. It's insane here. If it works out, I'll have plenty of storage space for all my tools, and a chance to use them again.
In the meantime, let's enjoy "humpday".
Good night, I hope.

. . . , 1955 - chicagobob, tonsorial expert, singer/guitar player raconteur I didn't know Bob hunted racoons ? ? ? And don't forget; professional men's hair stylist. Had a nice evening at Bruce Roper's doing recording yesterday. Laid down a nice bass track on the newest song on my up-and-coming disc project. Really almost 99.9% done. Bringing in a friend to sing a harmony part on one last tune next week. Then maybe a little bit more percussion on another tune and it's ready for final mixing and mastering.

Good morning. It's in the high 60s and should reach around 90. Pretty normal.
At work I'm immersed in copyright law. A client wants me to address some college professors and explain to them what they need to know about the subject. That means I have to learn more myself. I've done a fair amount of copyright work but it's interesting to learn aspects of it I'd never encountered. We never get too old to learn. It's fun.
Have a good day.

Hey - awake again and back at my desk with my office assistant, Mizz Lola, in a bouncy seat beside me. Minor culinary success to report. I hadn't baked bread from scratch in a couple of decades. Turned out pretty good. Off to a brief meeting with an environmental database sales rep, thence desk work. The governor signed amendments to Michigan environmental law yesterday so I will spend the afternoon reading the revised Part 213 and Part 215 statutes. Have a peaceful midweek one and all.

On the morning run I watched a blue heron grab a frog out of a pond as I passed by. Actually, as I approached the pond, I saw the heron fly overhead and I knew he was headed for the pond. The surprise was that when I caught up to where he landed, he was beside, rather than in the pond. And he wasn't standing tall -- he was stooped way over on the banks of the pond. He reached into the water from that perch on the bank, plucked the frog from beneath the water, brought it to the bank, dropped it then devoured it. All very quickly.
Then, as I passed under a tall tree, I heard an interesting bird call. I stopped and looked up to see two orioles.

Just because it's May, here's a somewhat impressionistic take on the nasturtiums in our garden.

Intended to sleep in yesterday and then play some music. After a week and a half of getting up early followed by general disruption, we were supposed to have a day off from our home repairs. But at 7:00 AM, they called and wanted to send the foreman at 7:30 to correct the problems we had found. So he did that, Mr. H missed his weekly Old Farts Coffee and I didn't get my weekly alone time. The owner of the company was scheduled to come by this afternoon to check everything. Instead he dropped by unannounced yesterday afternoon (on his way to another job) just as Mr. H was on the roof checking things. The good news is that after he had the foreman come back to do one more correction, it's all done. We will run by their office today to make the second half of the payment. Naturally, while we're in town we'll do some other errands.
After all of the time and money that has been spent, the house looks like it should. No improvements, just expected value.

It better be Wednesday, I don't want to have to do Tuesday twice in a week.
Big storms rolled through here last night, lots of lightning, thunder, wind and rain but no problems that I know of.
Put some chili in the slow cooker this morning, no ground beef, big chunks of stew meat.
