The aftermath of Cinco de Mayo. I "celebrated" by having a chicken burrito from a local restaurant, adding some of Chillibill's hot sauce. Exciting stuff, yes? A little yardwork beckons later, followed by some south of the border guitar playing. Then a Yankees/Royals game to watch. The Royals are surprisingly good this series. Strong pitching, timely hitting. Enjoy what used to be "The Day of Rest". It drove me nuts when I was a kid, nuthin' to do. Now I miss it. Oldfartism... Watched an interesting movie last night, Leaves of Grass, good music, Prine, Earle, Little Feat. Well acted and written, Edward Norton in a dual role as twins, Steve Earle (small part), Richard Dreyfuss, Susan Sarandon, Maggie Siff, Pruitt Taylor Vince.

Good morning... it appears that this yer April flowers have brought May showers... another dreary, rainy day in this inside-out season.

Good morning. Having disposed of the brush pile yesterday without causing a forest fire or breaking a nail, which is worse, I guess I'll give golf another try this morning. It's cloudy and cool but the sun may break out later.

Mornin'.....
Preparing to head back to Liberal for day #2 of the festival. Yesterday was blazing hot, today will be 20 degrees cooler, but blowing 30+ mph.
Gotta go get a shower and more coffee.

Morning. I'd like to get out and go to something today but I sure don't know what or where. I've checked out the Net and paper and couldn't see anything I would be interested in. I'm not watching TV so I guess I'll sit around the pool reading and devote a couple of hours honing some tunes I'm working on.
Have a good day and I hope you fine something interesting you can get into.

I hope the storms moving in don't affect Bill's plans to meet up with Dub and Joy. I'm off to work a parent conference at the Braille School.

I mowed the lawn a week ago and the damned thing needs it again. Is this the way it is going to be from now until fall??
Have a good one.

Good Morning Good People
Cloudy and cool. It seems Mizz Lola has her first cold and will only sleep if someone is holding her. We have taken shifts all night to hold her, administer bottles, walk around, and change diapers.
Rained yesterday so we didn't mow the grass. Might be lucky today and Zack will stop by and mow it (he works for food and laundry detergent). Maybe some music.
Have a sonorous Sunday one and all.

Good morning. I survived the Cinco de Drinko party intact, in part because I was driving. Early church duty awaits. Have a good day.

Gonna rain again so no use trying to mow the weeds, dandelions and creeping charlie otherwise know as my front lawn, you don't want to know about the back lawn*. ;D
Me darling wife wants to spend the day at her mothers today so I'm going to take her to breakfast and then deposit her at her moms.
Really good show with David Mallet last night, Mr Radtke and spouse attended, hopefully tonight's show will be a just as good.

Good morning. Part of getting ready for the move involves using what's in the freezer. The turkey is ready to go in the oven and a traditional Thanksgiving type dinner comes a little later today.
Why the heck not ;D

G'mornin' - yesterday turned into a beautiful sunny afternoon, today is starting as a sunny day, expect it to be raining by sundown . Found a kennel on the road marked 'Free' need to go acquire it, then yardwork after de-dunging the donkey yard. 'Rest'? take it when you can get it. - by the time I got back to the kennel already had a sign on it claiming it. 'free' doesn't last long, even on the island Today in History: 1527 - Spanish & German Imperial troops sack Rome; ending Renaissance 1833 - John Deere makes 1st steel plow 1851 - Dr John Gorrie patents a "refrigeration machine" 1914 - British House of Lords rejects women suffrage 1937 - Dirigible Hindenburg explodes in flames at Lakehurst, NJ (36 die) 1954 - Roger Bannister of Britain breaks 4 minute mile (3:59:4) 1960 - Pres Eisenhower signs Civil Rights Act of 1960 1994 - Chunnel linking England & France officially opens born today: 1758 - Maximilien Robespierre, Arras Fr, French revolutionary/avocat (1781) 1829 - Phoebe Ann Coffin, 1st female ordained minister in New England 1856 - Sigmund Freud, Austria, cigar smoker, father of psychology 1898 - Daniel Gerber, Freemont Mi, beloved by babies at mealtime 1915 - Orson Welles, Kenosha Wisc, actor (Citizen Kane, War of the Worlds) 1921 - Freddy Randall, jazz trumpeteer 1945 - Bob Seger, Dearborn Mich, folk singer (Silver Bullet Band-Shake Down) 1947 - Dennis Cowan, London, rocker (Bonzo Dog Band) 1947 - Richard "Dick" Fosbury, Portland Ore, high jumper (Oly-gold-68) 1950 - Robbie McIntosh, drummer (Avg White Band-Show your Hand)

We quattro de Mayo'd and MrR barely lived to tell about it. Knowing I had to be hostess the next day to my daughter (whose birthday is Cinco de Mayo), SIL and grand-darling, I opted for a less adventurous night! Little Miss Ella's baptism is this coming Saturday and we are hosting the after-service foodies here. That will make for a busy upcoming week for me. I had written a song and incorporated the music and lyrics into a photo book and a photo DVD for the twin grandbabies last year for their baptism gift. At the time (and she was not even pregnant yet) my daughter asked if I was planning to do that for "the next" grandchild. How can I not? I have the song written and last night finished the photo book. Still have to record the song and make the DVD...before Saturday. My dance card is full til Wed. Time is getting tight! Unfortunately while doing the photobook I got all these ideas about having enlargements made of the professional photos of the 3 grand-darlings and by the end of it all I have now ordered six 16 x 20 photos! Framing will no doubt break the bank! After seeing the picture of the "sweet" accomodations Bill is enjoying in the "dollhouse" I feel compelled to at least do some cleaning here before his arrival! I did have the guest room toilet repaired yesterday just for him! I hope he appreciates it. It's the small things that count, right?
