More slush outside, but the roads are clear. Buri-shabu for dinner. This is reversed--first you dip it briefly to semi-cook it (bottom); then you dip it in sauce (top) and then eat. Buri (yellowtail) is a winter fish.

Good morning, early morning.
I don't eat much semi-cooked food. I want it dead and cooked such that medical science can't bring it back to life. Raw fish, uh, no thanks.
Made the trip to Mary's eye doctor yesterday but it didn't go well, for her. The girl who was supposed to put the numbing drops in her eye either missed or used the wrong drops or something. In any case the eye wasn't numb when the needle hit. She's supposed to have another shot in a month. I don't know if she'll go. She was pretty angry about it for the 2 hour drive home and the rest of the day. She isn't up yet so I'll see if it's any better this morning later.
It's supposed to be warmer today, maybe 60 or so. If I can get the chainsaw running I'll try to get the fallen tree cleaned up. If I can't get this saw running I'll just go buy a new one. THis one really doesn't owe me anything after 9 years.
Happy Saturday.

I am finally feeling close to normal and, for me, that is as good as it gets. Have some fun today.

I like raw salmon, but that's the only raw fish I've ever tried. I ate raw oysters in my youth back in Baltimore too. Not so much out here in Missouri. I feel about as much like a rung out rag as a guy could, but at least the worst appears to be over. Like LJ, that is as good as it gets here.

I'm heading off to the motorcycle show this morning. Buy me a new tee-shirt. Hmm... I'm in the area, but not for the show. Won't be far from there. Oh well, won't have time for it. If you see any Kawasaki triples there, get me a pic if you can.

Up. Supposed to hit 77 today, but windy. So much for Mr. H doing the weed spraying. We did get some outdoor work done yesterday. Mainly getting mistletoe out of our mesquite trees. No easy way to do that and there's more to do today. My shoulders are stiff.
Bruce, Mr. H has had 25 shots in his left eye and 12 in his right eye. Various technicians and nobody has ever done a bad job with the anesthetic. Knock on wood, he has a shot scheduled for next week.

The shit hit the fan when she told the technician the eye wasn't numb but they went ahead anyway. It wasn't pretty.

Good morning, all. Evan, I was so happy to hear yesterday of Nancy's weight gain -- that is wonderful news. Bruce, real bummer about Mary's treatment going awry, geez. Back up into the 40s today, we'll lose a lot more snowcover. I drove that Mazda last night, really liked it, much more fun and less ostentatious than the Infiniti -- may go back to the dealer with Barb today so she can drive one she has her eye on. Kinda a funny auto pas de deux we are engaged in. Marty -- I have a couple of pint tokens for Urban Growler, if you're interested later today or tomoro. Lonnie playing tonight in White Bear ... hmmmmmmmmm p.s. I love the color, Blue Reflex Mica:

Good Morning Good People
Cloudy and cool as this not-really-winter continues. (I would rather have snow, and be outdoors doing something other than shoveling said snow).
Some housework and minor basement tasks. Friends whom we haven't seen in a long time coming for dinner. They are dog people so they won't mind a half-grown pup bouncing off the walls whilst we enjoy a leisurely meal.
Waiting a call from the computer shop to pick up my new laptop. HP with i5 processor and solid-state hard drive. Got the touch screen whether I wanted it or not. I learned from several sources that an i5 or i7 processor is essential for working with photo files or PDF files. Price at the specialty computer repair shop was the same as the big boxes.
Have a fine non-winter Saturday one and all.

Eh. We have winter here. A little less than a foot of snow so far this weekend, more predicted in the next couple of days. Wife is itching to cross country ski. I see no way out of it. Be well all and do good works.

The sun is supposed to make a appearance here today. I'm not sure I remember what that is like. nita is off to a stamping crafting thing, I'm thinking about changing strings for the first time in like a year, and the big excitement is later today when I go to the Home Depot and buy a new Rubbermaid trash can. Woo Hoo!

Morning
39F/4C But I think it will get a bit warmer than that.
Left the house early to get the truck filled with gas and washed, then breakfast with my metal detecting club. Now it's shop time till 1:00 or so.
Bill: free beer sounds good I may call you after work.

Bill, congratulations on your engagement. I hope you two have many happy years together, that's you and the Mazda I mean. I like that color better on a Jag.
Got my fallen tree cut up into 1 foot lengths so I don't hurt my left arm lifting them. Getting it all in a cart and hauling it out to the burn pile comes later, maybe much later.
Then I decided to just finish the job so the tree is in the burn pile I'm cleaned up and still have time for a nap before Scotch-O'clock.
