We had some excitement yesterday when a tornado blue through the neighborhood. It came within a mile of our house. The only injury was to the driver of a car that was picked up and turned onto its roof.
Today is the funeral of a longtime friend. Tomorrow is the wedding of a young couple we like very much. So the weekend will run the gamut.

Good morning. Still raining and cool and I'm really tired of this but it's supposed to clear tomorrow.
Got some guitar time in yesterday but not presentable. I did take the old L7-C out of its case to see how it was doing after being cased for probably over a year. Looks like the last thing I did to it was put new strings on it and they're still clean and they were almost still in tune, just a little high. It's lighter than the ES-165 and I still like it better than my other guitars.
Happy Saturday.

up early to do chores early so I can catch the 8:00 ferry so I can get to the LaConnor Guitar festival in time to catch the panel with Michael Gurien.
A gray day otherwise, but it's Saturday!

Well, I'm off. Going to Boston. Tonight's game got rescheduled for the afternoon and the beer and bacon event got rescheduled for June 6. So, I drive to my son's on the coast, picking a a couple of fantastic fruit tarts in Concord on the way, and he drives us to Fenway to see from the bleachers, the indomitable Chris Sale pitch the Carmine Hose to victory.
**Boy, that was a trick, constructing that sentence so that Sale wasn't tossing from center field.

Good Morning Good People
Clear sunny morning in May. Lilacs are fading but fragrant. Last night it was warm enough for an exciting Old Man's Friday Night. Sat on the back porch, smoked my pipe, and caught up on reading National Geographic. Tried to persuade the dog to curl up by my feet but she was having none of it.
Plans for the day are uncertain. I should work on the long-languishing trim carpentry in the basement. Might do some yard work considering the pleasant weather.
JDD -- congrats on the cuddly kid. Sleeping babies are the greatest. Wide awake babies are fun too.
Have a fine springtime Saturday one and all.

Morning
81F/27C Sunny
My last day at the Podium was long and tiring. Mostly doing grief management for long time customers that stopped in to say goodbye. Except for one, he had been trying to get to the Podium for years but being from out east never had the chance until yesterday. He still vowed to play every guitar in stock and was quietly at it when I left.
Saturday Shop, got a few people coming by.
117 Days to IJ.
53 Days to Key West.

We are in Mizzou Arena and just watched Claire walk across the stage at the honors convocation. She graduates from the business school later today. Not a bad Saturday.

Saturday stuff. Like mowing, trimming, spraying, etc. Gotta get this place caught up and in shape so it's easy to keep up.
Three couples coming over June 3 for babyback ribs and the first back yard jam here at my place. Can't wait.
