Good morning except that it's still raining.
The guys doing some handy-man work for me removed a rotted 4x4 that held up the railing on the back steps and planned to install a new one this morning but the rain may interfere with that plan. They are supposed to fix a couple of doors too and finish installing the new doors on the garden shed. Rain, rain, go away. My only consolation is that it's raining harder north of here. There's supposed to be a Flounder fishing tournament from a harbor about 10 miles further up the coast today but there's small craft warnings up and I wouldn't want to go fishing in this rain anyway. Friends who do fish might go out anyway and I hope they don't make the news.
Happy Saturday. Hope there's something besides the Royal Wedding on TV.

Good morning, everyone. It'll be 60s-90s here. It's beautiful right now. Agenda: chores, trip with Diane to library, make dinner. All's well.

The kindness of strangers has always warmed me, but yesterday amazed me. Someone dropped off a Fender acoustic 'from one musician to another' I never saw them. Surprised how good just strumming with my thumb made me feel.
Better days y'all

Good Morning Good People
Raining. Hopefully rain will cease before Mizz Lola's first T-ball game at 11:30.
Afternoon trip to Elderly planned, hopefully to part company with my Gold Tone banjo. I have dissected it and converted it to an entry-level bluegrass banjo, including resetting the neck and leveling and crowning frets. This process would have been much easier if Marty, Terry, or Joe had been looking over my shoulder. At this point I want to be done with it and move on to other projects. I don't care too much how much money I get out of it; I got 10 years of playing it as an openback and got some Lessons in Luthiery.
Restrung my new Reiter banjo last night with bronze-wound strings and am enjoying the heavenly plunkitude.
Dennis -- good to hear you have a six-string in your hands. Keep us posted.
Have a fine Saturday or Saturnalia one and all.

Have good ones.
I asked this question in Gear a few days ago but maybe it will get more traffic here:
Anyone have any comments on the Boss Acoustic Singer Live amp?

Up and awake. We went over next door for a "glass of wine" last night. I let my hair down so hard my bald spot is bigger this morning. I'm too old for this.

Morning all.
64F/18C Mostly cloudy.
We've had a set back weather wise to cooler temps for a few days, better than getting really hot and humid.
Saturday shop and I've got lots of people stopping by, hopefully to pick up instruments because I've got too many in there right now.
Good to hear from Dennis because the only way I know of for him to post here is via phone.

Nice lunch with Marty yesterday. Picked up Kris’ guitars. I’ll get them set up this week. They will play a lot better after.

I was going to try a new drinking game. Turn on the tv this am, and every time they say the word, "princess", take a shot of tequila. Then I figured out that could lead to alcohol poisoning and death. Which is preferable to watching cometary on the royal wedding. So I went for it.

Rain is about a half hour southwest and heading this way. Got the mowing done just in time and just before I was going to run outta gas. Too hot to do it earlier.
Long talk with my son last night, he’s got a job offer from a company in New Zealand and is seriously considering it.

After 2 days with no internet, tv, or phone, the tech showed up and fixed it all in 9 minutes. I am devastated that I missed the Royal Wedding, but happy to be reconnected with the world. I am sure I was missed by one and all. Fear not. Normalcy has returned.

Cocktails at the aerodrome: Being civilized gentlemen of a certain age, Mister Reynolds and I met at Holman's Table this afternoon to salute the newly married royals with a proper gin and tonic. My Kennedy was also handed off for a tune-up, as I noticed a little intonation issue recently, might just be old strings.
