ManplowUp and awake. We should lose most of the remaining snow we have to higher temperatures today and tomorrow. I say bring on he next storm! Why? 'Cause I bought me a 42" Manplow snow shovel, and the Amazonians delivered it yesterday. Snow, dang you! Snow!!!

Caught blade runner final cut last night (a version I hadn't seen), and it was followed by 2049. Would like to have watched that, too, but didn't want to stay up till 2am (saw it in a theater when it came out). Cable, so it'll probably come up again before the end of the month.
Paul--none yet, but when it comes the snow here is too wet and slushy (and too much of that) for that gizmo.

Good morning other than the fact that we're in the 20s this morning.
I think we'll be looking for a table top Christmas tree today because even the boss doesn't think it's worth the setup and take down of decorations when it's just the two of us. I agree. It's kind of a Bah-humbug year. Hoping 2020 is better, medically and mentally.
Happy Thursday.

Howdy. 16°F in New York this morning. We just planned an outing to lower Manhattan with my daughter next week; she is and has been hugely into the musical Hamilton, and I said I'd take her to Trinity Church on lower Broadway so we could visit his grave, as well as the Schuyler sisters'. Looking forward to some time off next week.
Have good ones, as Dan would say.

Good morning. We'll have 40s-60s again. My bug is finally in retreat and yesterday I felt good for the first time since December 7th.
We have a snow shovel. I find it useful for dealing with autumn leaves.
Enjoy your day.

PS: I'm in charge of the eucharistic ministers at our church. One of my tasks is to get enough EMs to sign up at Christmas and Easter to fill the need. On Christmas Eve we'll have four services and we'll need fourteen eucharistic ministers. We're still short four. If any of the Episcopalians here want to come to Phoenix and serve on Christmas Eve, I'll train you. Otherwise I may wind up buttonholing strangers on Central Avenue and asking if they'd like to be liturgical sommeliers.

Made chokecherrie syrup yesterday but it turned out too thin. This morning I dumped it all out of the sealed jars, into a saucepan to try again. Brought it to a boil, added more sugar, and re-canned it. Waiting now to see if all the jars seal. Will make cranberry sauce this afternoon for Christmas dinner.

Chokecherry syrup? If it fails, my sister-in-law's grandmother used to make an alcoholic drink that she called chokecherry bounce. No idea how she did it, but it was tasty and quite potent. Sounds like a backup plan.
Nothing on my agenda today except a run to the grocery store. Still have lots of boxes around the house that need to be unpacked, so maybe progress will be made.

I was looking for the Manplow’s power source and then realized it runs on indirect solar energy powered direct-drive biological power. Too high-tech for me. I’ll stick with fossil fuel or stored electric energy.

Coffee is made, dog has been fed, I gassed up Anita’s car, and made chorizo and scrambled eggs for breakfast. What are you sluggards up to?

Good to hear that you are feeling better Don. My cold drags on and on. 6 weeks now. Thank god I got a flu shot. Half the staff at work are sick. I have resolved to wear gloves for my next shift. I think I have had three separate colds now.
Christmas looms.
Larry and Mr. Liver are both well and seeming to be happy cohabiting. He has the diabetes under control (thank god his insulin is free). Low white blood cell count continues to plague us but that appears to be improving. Larry now knows what "You are what you eat" means.
Hope you are all well and content. I'm looking forward to rising after dawn soon and coming home from work in the daylight.
Hugs all around.

Not during a service, but I did sip some Harvey's Bristol Cream which tastes identical to the eucharistic wine we had at my old church in Haddonfield NJ. Where I was an acolyte for early communion services. I remember getting up on cold midwinter mornings to serve as an acolyte all during high school years.
