Except for the romance that sounds like Lawrence of Arabia.

I enjoyed the recent murder-mystery, "Knives Out." Great ensemble cast, with Daniel Craig in an uncharacteristic role—with a Louisiana accent, no less.

I think "Louisiana" accent is more descriptive. OK. With quotation marks. The quotation marks ..... knives out AND/OR Louisiana I tried to watch that flick. Daniel’s dialect was horrible But it was a good cast.

For Casablanca there are lots of trivia questions posted here and there on the web (the trick is finding the Qs without the As).
And that's a very re-watchable movie--a lot of people think repeated viewings get better.

I think "Louisiana" accent is more descriptive. OK. With quotation marks. Me too. Been to N'Awlins and watched all of Treme. Didn't hear any accent like that, except for Yankees trying to pass.

My wife and I rewatched "Gorky Park" the other evening. It has held up remarkably well for a 37-year-old film, with a great ensemble cast—William Hurt, more stoic and reserved than ever, the late Brian Dennehy, Ian Bannen, Lee Marvin, and the promising and lovely Joanna Pacula. The film paints a very vivid picture of life in Soviet Russia in the early 1980s, along with a triple murder mystery and a conspiracy its solution uncovers.

Without qualification, the best movie I have watched in the past decade -- or even longer -- is Peter Rabbit.

I purchased Cats. Not just Cats, but the blue-ray version. It is truly awful. Not just because of the effects, but the director consistently made bad decisions throughout the film. Watching the extras is fun, because everyone seemed to think they were part of something that was going to be GREAT.
The dancing, however, is wonderful.

Just finished Casablanca. Don't know if it is the best movie of all time, but it sure is great.

Speaking of accents, because of my Texas roots I was always quick to catch false notes in film characters who faked a Texas accent. Tommy Lee Jones was always spot on but he's from Texas. The other person who comes to mind who got it right was Robert Duvall. He's from California but he must have a very good ear. Tender Mercies was a wonderful film.

Pat and I watched a movie a few nights ago that got 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and great reviews elsewhere. International Falls.
The Minnesota accents and behavior were so horribly and clumsily overdone that it was almost a parody of itself. It weren’t no Fargo. Additionally we both agreed it was one of the worst movies we’d ever seen. Who the hell rates those things anyway?
I suppose I offended someone here that loved it 😊
Good Movie? How about Das Boot.
