It’s Friday and this is still actually myThursday. I sleep the day. I awake the night I don’t have a clue what’s happening my Friday yet. But it will be music for my piano. Finally! Enjoy your days. Following pics- it’s the beginning. There will be a different stand or a old diningtable. The keyboard is way too high - 36”. It has to be 28 1/2 “

Up and awake. We have some tremendous thunderstorms overhead. At least I won't have to water today. What do we do for evening fun in Missouri? We empty a batch of compost into the "finishing barrels" out back. I have two compost pens I made from pallets, and when the compost in there gets to a certain point, I'll transfer it to the six cut plastic tubs I have (think half barrel size) behind to fence for "final cooking." That load will be ready next spring to put on top of the new garden plots I have planned. Meanwhile, I need to make some repairs and adjustments to the two pens, and then I'll start filling them back up with clippings. I know, right? Hard to keep up with the nightlife in western Missouri.

Skipped the bike today--too hot too early--but did get to my pushups after some other minor around-the-house stuff.

Good morning.
The local paper says tomorrow's protests should be short and peaceful. I hope they're right.
The pool guy says the sand in my filter needs to be replaced and that's why it's washing back into the pool from the filter. He can't get to it for a few days so I'll just call the steps the beach one has to cross to get to the water. 1st world problem. There's always something that needs fixing when the pool gets opened.
Have a safe Friday.

Good morning. The local paper says tomorrow's protests should be short and peaceful. I hope they're right. I hope that is true here as well. I live only blocks from the West Allis (suburb of Milwaukee) Police Department. The chief of police lives directly behind me. Protests are planned for today and tomorrow.

I guess every morning in grand lake is beautiful. This one is no exception.
Packing up, 830 out for the wedding gig then straight on to Santa Fe. We'll take the intermountain route, including a shortcut via Ute pass, @40 miles of dirt road. It's well maintained because of the molybdenum mine up there. The view from the top is glorious.

Looks like rain today. No big plans today. I may dig out some old recordings and see what is down memory lane. Is Howard having a third birthday today?

Run of great weather. Today looks good as well. Off to the dump with a trailer full. Very cathartic.
Hard to force yourself into the shop on days like this. We don’t get that many.

Good morning. Howard, congratulations on your Congressional Medal of Honor.
Our heat wave begins to dissipate today. It hit 110 yesterday and tomorrow's high will be 93. The larkspur that gave us color for over two months got toasted by the heat and I've been pulling it out this morning. There are about forty tomatoes on my plants but nothing's turning red yet.
Enjoy your day.

Today is looking great. I have the day off. The weather looks stellar, high around 80, light breezes, low humidity. One of my five cousins on my mom's side of the fambly organized an impromptu reunion in Eau Claire for today at noon. All of those cousins except me are female (checking here, yup, I'm male). There were six of us at one time but Mary Clarke was killed when her idiot boyfriend pulled a wheelie at speed and she fell off the back of his motorcycle in the 1960s. All of the cousins live in Sconnie except me (checking here, yup, I'm in Minnesota). We're meeting at Forest Hill Cemetery, where our parents and grandparents, and Mary, are buried. Then we'll head off to a coffee/pie shop that has a patio and we'll be able to grab a bite and chat at a safe distance. On my way back home, I'll stop at Ray's Place and take home some split pea soup, navy bean soup, Spanish stew, roast ham sammich and a jar of their horseradish-laced kick-ass mustard. I'll be wearing my "Wisconsin disguise," a green Leinenkugel's ballcap with pleather bill.

Off to the gravel pit to get another ton of rocks. There're walls to build and sweat to sweat.
Mending Wall By Robert Frost
Something there is that doesn't love a wall, That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it, And spills the upper boulders in the sun; And makes gaps even two can pass abreast. The work of hunters is another thing: I have come after them and made repair Where they have left not one stone on a stone, But they would have the rabbit out of hiding, To please the yelping dogs. The gaps I mean, No one has seen them made or heard them made, But at spring mending-time we find them there. I let my neighbor know beyond the hill; And on a day we meet to walk the line And set the wall between us once again. We keep the wall between us as we go. To each the boulders that have fallen to each. And some are loaves and some so nearly balls We have to use a spell to make them balance: ‘Stay where you are until our backs are turned!’ We wear our fingers rough with handling them. Oh, just another kind of out-door game, One on a side. It comes to little more: There where it is we do not need the wall: He is all pine and I am apple orchard. My apple trees will never get across And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him. He only says, ‘Good fences make good neighbors.’ Spring is the mischief in me, and I wonder If I could put a notion in his head: ‘Why do they make good neighbors? Isn't it Where there are cows? But here there are no cows. Before I built a wall I'd ask to know What I was walling in or walling out, And to whom I was like to give offense. Something there is that doesn't love a wall, That wants it down.’ I could say ‘Elves’ to him, But it's not elves exactly, and I'd rather He said it for himself. I see him there Bringing a stone grasped firmly by the top In each hand, like an old-stone savage armed. He moves in darkness as it seems to me, Not of woods only and the shade of trees. He will not go behind his father's saying, And he likes having thought of it so well He says again, ‘Good fences make good neighbors.’

Just sitting in my easy chair, listening to the Sarah Jarosz, Leventhal you tube. Oh my goodness. Had to wipe my tears 3 times. What an evocative tune. Shower next then wife and I will head out for a morning stroll. Vitual open mic at 7pm. I'm up first. I ain't got no finger nails and I'm struggling to get any volume out of my baby soft finger tips. Wish the nail lady was still open. I'm on at 7pm. Good morning.
Thunderstorms passed through last night, nothing serious. I got up and made sure the cats were in, they weren't and the meows I got told they were very happy to get inside before the rain started.
I'll try to get some work done today.
