Barb had a 1969 blue Valiant. She drove it 16 years and referred to it as the Blue Bomb. She shudders when she thinks of it.

Late Happy Birthday, Bill! I too had a beautiful Valiant, 1961, baby blue, fake continental kit, push button automatic, BABE magnet!!! Huh, don't think I've ever seen those two words together before ... My older brother had been helping me shop for cars. He came by the store where I was working and said he had a great surprise for me. We walked out of the store and into a large parking lot, maybe 80 cars there. I looked around the lot and said, "just tell me it is not the blue one." He just smiled and started in on how it had low miles, a great price, owned by a little old lady, etc. It was a smooth riding, reliable (but butt ugly) car. My roommate at the time had a Triumph TR-6. My Valiant and I frequently took him to and from the shop where he was constantly having his Triumph repaired.
