Cool & rainy today. The weather did a big change overnight. We need the rain, too. Why I am awake at this ungodly hour remains a mystery.

Good morning. A less hot, dry week is predicted. It's still above normal but it's not bad. Enjoy your day.

Dar and I had a nice drive through the easternmost prairie (don't tell me Ohio has some) at harvest time. The patchwork of early Fall colors off into the endless distance was breathtaking. We then spent the afternoon in rural Illinois at my niece's river house on the Salt Fork -- about 3 miles of gravel from any paved road.

Our ISP is moving us, along with lots of other customers, to different hub for a time while they rebuild our hub which was severely damaged by the August 10 storm. As a result we will be without Internet service for most of the day. We have the WiFi hot spot and plenty of data allowance but probably won’t spend much time online today.

Breakfast out with Nita’s folks, then to Costco, then to Ikea to return some patio chairs that we decided we don’t want. Cycling awaits later.

Good morning.
Got a shower, coffee and a bit of breakfast, much better.
A few errands to do this morning and then shop time.
DaWife doesn't like to cook as much as I do but that girl can bake. She made a apple crisp yesterday and it took a lot of self control to not eat it for breakfast. The Damn Potter would have finished it off without a second thought but we are saving the rest for dessert tonight, warmed up with a scoop of ice cream.
Better get moving before it starts to rain.

I think I found my new theme song:
This came on right after the Michael Peter Smith tribute show (on WFMT's Midnight Special).

Funny start to my day: I had my client come in to execute her prenuptial agreement. She shows up with her fiance, they sign the pre-nup and ask if I can perform weddings. I said I had become a minister 4 months ago to perform my son's wedding. So we grab a couple of my co-workers to be witnesses and perform the ceremony in the conference room.

She probably knocked him down in your parking lot and sat on him and said, "Listen Buster, you're going to go into that's guy's office and sign that pre-nup and then you're going to marry me on the spot." "You got it?" He agreed. She let him get up.

That's got "Joe" written all over it ! I met Zoey at Folk Alliance Region Midwest a couple of 3 years ago. She's working it. Usually plays banjo, I think.

We had a great day of shooting Sunday. My wife, two sons and daughter-in-law went to the Oregon Forest and found a nice, safe place to shoot. My sons and I all have some form of 9mm pistol and I brought my Ruger Mark IV 22 pistol. My DIL (knee jerk liberal by the way) shot as good or better than all of us with the 9mms, and definitely better than all of us with the .22.
We also shot my late father's 1903 bolt action Springfield 30.06. I hit the bullseye with my first shot. Decided to not shoot it again. (Why would I want to ruin the impression that it was skill?)
