Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone. I did go in to the office because our other copy editor retired last Friday (we are about to hire a replacement). I met a coworker/friend for coffee across the avenue, who gave me a very cool woodcut poster (48/130, signed by the artist) of Steve Earle with his left hand around the neck of a Les Paul (PaulS), flipping the bird with his left hand. This will soon be framed. The cafe folks, who know us, refused to charge us for the coffee, and threw in a slice of cake.

I arrived home about an hour ago, and my lovely little one has baked a red velvet bundt cake that she's about to glaze with vanilla glaze, and she has given me a copy of Paul McCartney's "The Lyrics." What a kid. I was bowled over. We went to dinner this past Sunday night, so this evening I'll heat up some nice leftovers from yesterday, and plan to watch the old film noir "The Mask of Dimitrios" on Prime Video. Yes, the life of a bluegrass copy editor is fraught with excitement.

So, thanks again for remembering me.
