You have to wonder how someone like that ever made enough money to buy that car. I would guess he bought it with bitcoin proceeds. A lot of bitcoin millionaires running around. Or maybe won the lottery.

Reminds me of 20-30 years ago when I dealt with a seemingly endless number of cotton-farmer millionaires. They had all had the grit, determination and talent to own farms that were in the path of urban development. Some developer would buy all their acreage and they'd get rich overnight. They were mostly nice and honorable people who kept their word. I wish all my clients had been like that.

Anna took her driver's test in 2009 using our 5sp Chevy Prizm. The officer said it had been years since he had seen a kid take the test with a stick.
I cut my stick teeth as a kid driving the truck during harvest. Miss a shift with fully loaded under powered grain truck in a soft field and you are screwed. If you are in the wrong gear when you hit a wet spot, you are screwed. I learned by being screwed.
I wish that particular method of learning had extended to the field of education I was most interested in at the time.

I learned to drive a stick by driving the night watering truck on Woodland Country Club's golf course. I might have driven over a tee or two. Maybe. In the dark how could I be sure?

You were a night waterman? Me too.
Did couples like to park on parts of the course for a little hanky panky?
Did you shine your headlights on them?

I spent a summer working in Wisconsin at a conference center with a golf course. We student workers were known to sometimes sneak onto the course at night and fill a hole or two with sand from the bunkers.
