Another perfect day here. It will be hard to spend indoors. Feels like fall.
Damn, summer went fast.
I have two builds going so I should spend some time in the shop.

Home from the cabin early. I've been nursing my cabin water heater along for several year, always thinking, I should just bite the bullet and get a new one. Well, the water kind of made the decision for me. The drain is leaking and I can't get it to stop, in fact my efforts made it worse, so I shall soon have a new one!

Good morning. It'll be ordinarily hot for late August.
My Covid-afflicted wife felt better yesterday and even better today. She got a prescription for that medicine I can't remember the name of. I picked it up yesterday. So far our son and I are fine but he's taking a few days off to avoid infecting coworkers.
Not a lot to report. Enjoy your day.

Good morning
67F-81F Sunny.
Twin Grandsons Manny & Sam's birthday today, they are 24. All but 1 of my 8 grandkids are over 18 now.
Tyler came over yesterday and cleaned out the finishing room so I can use it as a photo booth. I have the graduated backdrop Millring gave me but I may get a black one that can be lowered over it if needed. I will use one of my Harmony's as a test guitar and if results are good then Bill's Kennedy 000 will get shot. No gun Bill, I'm saving that for one of LJ's guitars.

Out looking at moss today. That is beautiful. I really like moss, and try to take pictures of it when I can. I'm currently growing some sphagnum moss as ground cover for my carnivorous plants, and have been watching as moss slowly takes over parts of our patio. Unfortunately, we have lots of full sun, and moss prefers shade. Some is growing on the north side of the house (not on the house itself).

Good Late Morning
A perfect late summer day on the Third Coast.
Preparing to motor to Lansing to recover from a guitar mishap. Last week I started to restring my Farida OT-22 for the first time since I bought it in March. The bridge pins were hopelessly stuck. I managed to dislodge the strings and pull them out through the soundhole, the pins were still stuck. I tried pulling vertically with as much force as I dared, tried pushing up from inside, still no luck. I should have taken it to a professional right then, but in unwise desperation I decided that bridge pins are cheap and I could afford to trash them. A twisting motion worked for five out of six pins, the head of the last pin broke off. Turns out that there was glue or finish on the pins and they were effectively glued in place. The broken pin will need to be drilled out and all of the holes will need to be reamed and new pins fitted. I discussed this with the Elderly repair guys and they agreed that this will be covered under warranty (at their suggestion - I didn't have to bring it up or debate it). Hopefully this will be done in a week or so and I can bring this instrument to IdiotJam.
On the way home I will stop by a state recreation area and ride a five-mile mountain bike loop. Hopefully my aging legs are up for it.
Have a fine Friday one and all.

Drool! I might have to double up on my statin pills before and after a visit there. A nice weather day for the Willamette Valley. I will try to escape the office a bit early and get a short motorbike ride in.

Back from lunch with more leftover food than I ate -- dry-rub pork ribs, beans w/ bacon and andouille, really good slaw. I did not bring home the pint of Alaskan Amber, though, that went down the hatch. It's good to be the king!

John B, James, I'm impressed. It took me four and a couple of very good players I know needed six.

Don, I think your third attempt is one that I very nearly tried.
My first guess was lucky. I thought of about four or five contenders for the second attempt, then wondered which of those the setter might have preferred. To my surprise, I guessed right.
John B has some impressive ESP powers!
Ps. John, please can you DM me tomorrow's lottery numbers.
