October started off weak/wet, but I have now been out for ride eight of the last 10 days, and the coming few also look good.

Good morning.
44F-63F mostly sunny.
Nice meal with my girls last night. Food was good and the price quite acceptable even though the girls tend to order large meals. I'm not sure they ever go shopping with all the leftovers they take home.
Lots to do today. Chili verde to make, doctor to see and an errand or two. A nap with happen sometime in there. I don't think I'll get any shop time in and naps will have to be short as I'll have a pot to stir every once in a while.

If the forecast holds, we have a near-week stretch of really nice weather, sunny and sixties. I like warm Novembers. The longer it stays warm, the less time it has to be cold. (old Norwegian saying)

Actually I have two things to report. Thing number one: my mail-in ballot has been received and that the signature has been verified. We get email notifications of these things.
Thing number two: I previously mentioned that I was on a search committee to find a new rector for our church. We failed. We found one terrific candidate. He was enthusiastic about us. We were enthusiastic about him. His offspring were not enthusiastic about being uprooted and moved to a new city. He withdrew. So we've reopened the position for applications. I've been contacting the few Episcopalians I know elsewhere and asking them to encourage promising candidates to apply. I'd hoped to be done with this task by now.
(I didn't say I had interesting things to report, just things.)
