Several of us are Culver's fans but, if you are in the mood for something different, I recommend trying Arby's Market Fresh roast turkey, bacon, ranch sandwich. It comes with a generous amount of turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and ranch dressing on two slices of hearty wheat bread. I forgo the tomato, not being an eater of tomatoes that haven't been rendered into catsup or pizza sauce.

One of my favorite sandwiches is turkey, bacon, and American cheese. I don't add anything else.

I used to stop at Arby's once in a while, I loved dipping my French fries in their horsey sauce and putting that same sauce on a roast beef sandwich.
Then one day when I stopped and tried to order French fries they said they didn't offer them anymore. But of course they now had some nasty tasting curly fries.
That was my last visit to an Arby's.

You know who has really good fries? Wendy's.

Arby's added back crinkle fries to the menu about a year ago. They are really good! Unfortunately, they did away with their potato cakes.

I never thought Arby's roast beef ever tasted like anything close to roast beef. I havent' been there in a very long time.

When they first opened you could watch them slice the meat off the roast to make your sandwich. Todd is too young to remember this, but they had a rotisserie in the front with a large roast in it and they sliced the beef for each sandwich. It was actually good, then. Now, it’s processed, pre-sliced, beef-like meat and not the same at all. I had one of those turkey sandwiches Rob pictured maybe 8-9 years ago when driving to KY. Bought it somewhere in Southern IL. Actually, Barb and I split one. Those things are very high in calories & sodium, so once every 10 years is my game plan. Another 18 months and I can order another and eat half. That particular one is 810 calories with enough sodium (2420 mg) to clear Chicago streets for the winter. Of course, that’s why it tastes good.

I would go just because of the potato cakes. Me, too. The "hash browns" at Dunkin are really tater cakes, and they are good, especially when washed down with a cold brew coffee.

Dealing with fast food fatigue from traveling so much, the market fresh turkey swiss was one of the few things dar and I could tolerate.

I don't know whether it's sad, alarming, depressing... maybe a bit of each... that I hear my coworkers talk about what they had for dinner the night before and it's almost always fast food.
Meanwhile Dar fixes me pasta, soups, big salads, home invented casseroles -- not gourmet, but delightful nonetheless.
I feel sad for the fast food only set.

Ok, so I must ask: What the hell is the difference between hash brown and a potato cake? Besides nothing?

Probably thickness, in a fast food setting.
In a non-fast food setting, I think of hash browns as grated potatoes cooked on a flat-top grill/griddle, maybe next to the eggs or bacon. They may be a little free-form, in clumps or looser in composition. I tend to think of potato cakes as something machine-formed, and likely cooked in a fryer.
