Greetings from Montreal! We are here with my daughter and a friend of hers who will be given a tour of McGill University later this morning. We have been here for a couple of days and have been enjoying ourselves immensely. It is a lovely city to wander, and with about a quarter of the population of New York, not crowded. Nor is there a trace of hostility in people, even on the Metro. We have done some thrift shopping and have had some amazing food and some not so great. I can say that in the future, I may never make much of an effort to seek out poutine... but my Formula-1-racing fan of a daughter got to walk the track on which they hold the Montreal Formula 1 race.
The Bisosphere, a remnant of Expo67, which I attended at the age of 13.
Yesterday was gray and blustery. The sunny temps today are supposed to reach about 75°F. Wahoo! Back to the rat race tomorrow.

Poutine for everyone—except me. I will pass. I did the beans at breakfast but I draw the line at poutine.
80 yesterday. 80 today. Green is bustin’ out all over!

I haven’t been in Montreal in many years. I spent time there and in Quebec City. I loved Quebec City and hope to go back.

On an errand loop yesterday afternoon, the motorcar at one point told me the air temp was 89, a record-setting day. There must have been 40 people lined up at the Dairy Queen down the street. More of the same is expected today before temps plummet for the weekend. Until then, I am sipping cold brew coffee and editing a piece about the Minnesota State Band, celebrating 125 years of existence and believed to be the only one left in the country. Oooh, Strawberry Chocolate Parfait is the Culver's Flavor of the Day!  |

Good morning. Looks like 60s-70s here. I have my weekly Zoom breakfast at 8:00 MST and a friend coming over for backyard coffee at 10:00. That should be enough to keep me out of trouble.

About to head down to my shop. I worked from 10 until 3 before getting worn out yesterday. I'll try to do the same today. Just finishing up on two big repairs and a Harmony rebuild. Now if I can get people to pick them up I'll have a happy bank account again.

I would love to be in Montreal. Have only spent a couple of days there years ago. Instead I'm in Tucson, which won't be bad today with an expected high of 83.
This morning is older grandson's knee surgery. He is most displeased with having to go back and stay with Mom and Dad for a week or two after only having moved out in December. But there's no way his 3 roommates will take care of him and no way he manage the stairs in their condo.
Mr. H and I will be on an adventure today. We're planning to take Lyft to a restaurant for lunch. Our first time using Lyft, although we have both had accounts for a while. Wanted to try a low risk trip before we need to rely on it during our upcoming cruise. Also a good thing to have if for some reason neither of us can drive.

This sounds great! My experience is that motorists around Montreal drive like they are F1 racers! Just out of curiosity, did you two fly up there or take a train, or what? |

I once had the pleasure of spending a few days at Mont Tremblant, northwest of Montreal, where I quickly learned that the locals ski like they drive, yikes, look out! And so much smoking! I saw guys smoking while they skied. Lovely place, though:  |

Greetings from Poipu. Today is our last day here, tomorrow we transfer up to Hanalei/Princeville for two weeks. I’ve got my morning swim in, coffee is consumed, Wordle kicked my butt and Nita is making scrambled eggs with veggies for breakfast. That’s it from Hawaii.

Lunch was a success. The restaurant, which we had never been to was a Chinese place that did only takeout for a very long time due to the pandemic. They only re-opened for dine-in in January. Many friends said that the place was great pre-pandemic, but none of them had been back yet. I'd say it was good, but not great. But they have quite a variety of dishes that I would try for dinner.
Our first experience with Lyft went well. We got picked up within a few minutes for both rides. Drivers were good, cars clean. Not too hard to figure out how to use the app. I may give up driving. No, not yet, but that day will come. And since Mr. H drives very little, it was a nice experience for me to not have to drive for once. Cost us about $11 each way to go 5 miles, plus a $3 tip.
